Look 1

Just because I love minimal dressing doesn’t mean I can’t experiment with a print or two. For this look, I’ve paired a statement leopard-print coat  with a black knit, black trousers and a classic leather bag. Keeping everything else simple ensures the print feels elevated and wearable rather than overpowering the entire look.

Look 2

Winter style can feel repetitive when you’re rotating the same coats, so I like to add interest through texture. Here, a fringed wool cape instantly brings movement to a monochromatic outfit, making it feel more considered and dynamic. It’s such an easy way to breathe life into neutral looks without relying on colour.

Texture is key to making simple outfits feel more directional, especially in winter. I love doubling down on tactile fabrics like leather, corduroy  and wool, but I always keep the colour palette neutral so the look doesn’t feel too busy. A great leather jacket is a winter essential – it adds polish, warmth and instantly elevates everyday pieces.

A great scarf  is one of the simplest ways to elevate winter layering. I like matching it to the knit underneath or styling it as part of the outfit rather than making it feel like an afterthought. It helps even the simplest combination feel more intentional.

One of my favourite styling tricks is borrowing from the boys. I’ll often layer a more masculine jacket over a softer, more feminine outfit to create contrast – a bit like the wrong shoe theory but with outerwear. It throws the whole look off in the best way and makes it feel effortlessly cool.

If in doubt, an all-black look will always make you feel amazing. I like starting with a black base – usually a turtleneck  and tailored trousers  – then building from there with sharp layers. Adding silver metallic accessories gives keeps it feeling modern rather than formal, while a structured leather jacket pulls everything together.

When it’s really cold, I want to be cosy without defaulting to a tracksuit. A knitted co-ord feels like a chic alternative – comfortable but still put-together.
