Go Inside London's Newest Luxury Address
The Property
On London's prestigious Bishops Avenue, this 3,057 sq ft duplex unfolds across two floors, with four bedrooms and five private terraces overlooking landscaped gardens. Designed by Albion Nord, the interiors draw on the architecture and green spaces of Hampstead Garden Suburb, creating a home that feels quietly sophisticated and connected to its setting. Natural light, generous proportions and carefully framed views underpin the design, while a restrained material palette brings warmth and texture to every room.
The Inspiration
Rather than relying on statement finishes or overt luxury, Albion Nord looked to the principles of the Arts & Crafts movement, taking inspiration from its emphasis on craftsmanship, honest materials and timeless design. Throughout the home, natural oak, stone, limewashed plaster, linen, wool and unlacquered brass create a tactile backdrop, while bespoke furniture sits alongside vintage and artisan-made pieces to give the interiors a layered, lived-in quality. Warm neutrals, earthy browns, muted greens and soft stone tones run throughout, allowing texture and materiality to take centre stage.
The Detail
What makes this apartment feel particularly special is its consistency. Every finish, material and bespoke element has been chosen to reinforce a single design language rooted in craftsmanship, nature and permanence. Rather than relying on statement pieces or fleeting trends, Albion Nord has created a home that feels timeless from the outset – one where the materials are designed to age gracefully and become even more beautiful over time.
The Amenities
Beyond the apartment, residents have access to an impressive collection of hotel-style amenities designed to make everyday living feel that little bit more indulgent. A hardwood-finished gym is equipped with state-of-the-art fitness machines, while the spa facilities and tranquil indoor pool offer a welcome escape from the pace of London life. Framed by calming interiors and flowing seamlessly into an elegant outdoor water feature, the wellness space has the feel of a private members' club rather than a residential development.
TAKE THE TOUR
The Entrance
The material story begins immediately. Walls are finished in a specialist lime-based textured plaster by Bauwerk, creating a soft, organic backdrop that continues into the main living spaces. Underfoot, herringbone timber flooring introduces warmth, while bespoke timber joinery and antique brass ironmongery establish the apartment's understated luxury. One of the most striking details is an ebonised oak floating shelf with softly rounded edges. Simple yet sculptural, it introduces the home's quiet confidence from the moment you step inside. Elsewhere, rolled and hammered brass door handles reference traditional blacksmithing techniques and have been left unlacquered so they'll naturally develop a rich patina over time. The same detailing continues into the staircase balustrade, subtly linking the spaces together.
The Living Space
Although open plan, the reception room has been carefully zoned into separate living, dining and library areas to create a sense of intimacy. Furniture has been arranged to maximise views across the gardens while allowing the architecture to remain the focal point. The living area is anchored by a generous bespoke sofa upholstered in pale butterscotch linen, paired with a bespoke travertine coffee table and an elegant Calacatta Viola marble side table from Albion Nord's own collection. Vintage brass lighting, artisan-made pieces and carefully selected textures add depth without overwhelming the calm aesthetic. One particularly beautiful detail is the bespoke shelving, where carved timber detailing offers a subtle nod to the Arts & Crafts movement that inspired the project.
The Kitchen
The kitchen combines pale oak chevron flooring with marble worktops and understated cabinetry. The hardware is deliberately simple and tactile, reinforcing the designers' focus on longevity over trends. Playfulness comes through in the upholstered Schumacher bar stools, where the rich brown fabric introduces warmth and softness to an otherwise architectural space.
The two brass cone pendants above the kitchen island are a custom design by Albion Nord, handcrafted by a trusted metal foundry in East Sussex. The pendants are made out of solid brass with a decorative ball detail that will patina beautifully over time. The brass was chosen to complement the rich green tone of the kitchen cabinets.
The Main Bedroom
Designed as a sanctuary overlooking the gardens, the principal bedroom layers natural materials to create warmth and serenity. A bespoke mohair-upholstered headboard sits alongside American burr walnut bedside tables with unlacquered brass hardware, while handwoven wallpaper crafted from sisal, arrowroot and jute introduces subtle texture. Finishing touches include Samuel & Sons trim on the curtains, a bespoke hand-knotted rug featuring Arts & Crafts-inspired diamond detailing and a sage-green upholstered bench at the foot of the bed. Together, they create a room that feels quietly luxurious.
The En-Suite
The principal en-suite is designed as a private sanctuary, where layers of natural stone create a sense of effortless luxury. Veined Volakas marble wraps the walls, floor and shower enclosure, while warm oak joinery softens the scheme beneath a sculptural marble vanity. A freestanding Whitestone bath forms the room's centrepiece, inviting long, restorative soaks, while Gessi brassware in a satin bronze finish adds a refined warmth that elevates the otherwise pared-back palette.
The Guest Rooms
The guest bedrooms were thoughtfully designed to feel curated and distinctive, with each space expressing its own unique character. Bespoke headboards feature sculptural forms, enhanced by contrast piping, tailored borders and intricate stitching details. A rich palette of tactile materials, including velvets and bouclés, is paired with bolder botanical prints and geometric patterns to create fresh, inviting bedrooms with a strong sense of individuality.
The Bathroom
The bathroom is all about understated luxury, where a timeless palette of Carrara marble creates a calm, spa-like atmosphere. Marble mosaic tiles flow seamlessly across the floor and continue into the shower enclosure, while bespoke painted joinery is topped with a solid Carrara marble vanity for a beautifully tailored finish. Completing the scheme, Gessi brassware in a satin bronze finish introduces warmth and subtle contrast, lending the space a quietly elegant, hotel-inspired feel.
