I founded the brand to liberate women like myself… The idea to start Elegant London came when I was shopping online and realised how few options there were. What I did order was disappointing – the cut, the quality, the materials – and the more I continued to try and shop for luxury plus-size clothes, the more I realised they were nearly non-existent.
 
The Elegant London customer is feminine and sophisticated… And also intelligent and strong-willed. She likes quality and has a solid sense of self.
 
I’m inspired by outspoken curvy women such like Ashley Graham… Alongside Candice Huffine, Ali Tate Cutler and the models that were part of our debut collection – Barbora Bartakova, Louise Boyce and Vanessa Williams. All these women really own their bodies and are so inspiringly comfortable in their skin, and this has nothing to do with size. 
 
I love the blogger Fashion Foie Gras for style inspiration…. Also let’s not forget all the great curvy women of classic cinema – such as Anita Ekberg in La Dolce Vita. 
 
Women with curves shouldn’t be afraid of creating strong silhouettes… Or adding a bit of flounce. I think sometimes women with curvy shapes are afraid of adding any volume anywhere, but it’s precisely a bit of volume in the right places – such as on the sleeve – that brings balance to an overall look.
