A Chic Influencer Shares Her Go-To Outfit Formulas

Visual artist and content creator Aideen Doyle’s fashion motto is simple: to invest in pieces that can be mixed and matched – and styled up or down – so that everything works together to form the perfect capsule wardrobe. With that in mind, we asked her to share the looks she goes back to time and again.

My love affair with grey is still running strong and I plan on incorporating it into my wardrobe again this season. Winter is all about chic outerwear and this belted grey maxi coat looks amazing with different textures.

For a typical day at the office, I like to keep my base simple then add one hero piece. Here, I’m styling my look around a bouclé waistcoat. I find investing in good staples you can style with multiple looks is the key to easy everyday style.

I don’t have much colour in my wardrobe but, when I do dip my toe in, I invest in statement pieces. This buttermilk scarf coat is the perfect balance of fun and stylish, and instantly elevates a simple look like a black sweater and leggings.

Monochrome is my go-to when I want to look chic and effortless, and this white maxi skirt has become a staple in my wardrobe. I love wearing it with black leather Mary Janes – while a wool polo-neck and a Demellier bag make it feel seasonally appropriate.

Tonal dressing is the easiest way to look stylish and put together in a hurry. I tend to stay away from wearing prints and loud colours, so incorporating different textures and cuts into my looks is key. Here, I’ve teamed this asymmetric jumper with a flowing silk maxi skirt and added leather ballet flats – the perfect balance of practical and stylish.

Oversized tailoring plays an important role in my wardrobe. As I’ve got older, I like to dress more modestly and I find tailoring is the way to do this while still looking cool and fashion forward. I’ve styled this three-piece suit with some vintage accessories and statement silver jewellery for a fashion event in the city.

I always like to commit to a look, whether I’m dressing up or down, and find there’s nothing quite as chic as wearing white or creamy tones head to toe. The foundation of this look is the oversized jacket, which I’ve paired with contrasting textures in a similar hue.

Good leather is something I will never regret investing in. The high street has been seriously impressive on this front – I find the quality is on par with many of the designer brands. I bought this Zara brown leather trench four years ago and it’s still one of my most-worn pieces every autumn.
