OUTERWEAR

Last winter I was heavily pregnant and didn’t really get to make the most of my favourite season. This year, I’m looking for twists on the classics to keep things feeling fresh and interesting. First, the oversized outerwear trend is going nowhere and I’m keen to lean into these silhouettes. From maxi to boxy styles, the key is to maintain some kind of shape. Elsewhere, belted styles and bomber jackets are ideal for this transitional period.

TROUSERS

If you’re going to add new trousers to your wardrobe this season, go for a pair of long, leather trousers – black for the office, silver for nights out and finally, a great pair of relaxed, high-waisted jeans. Citizens of Humanity is the brand to know for denim right now and ARKET does my favourite tailored trousers.

KNITS

It’s all about fabrication here. I like fine merinos and cashmere – and I do think it’s worth investing in good quality knitwear you can wear time and again.

BASICS

I always keep my base layers simple – think tees from RE/DONE and looser tops from Skims. They’re perfect while it’s still warm, but they’ll also make for the perfect layering pieces as it gets colder.

ACCESSORIES

I just know scarves will be big for me this year. I saw a cashmere one earlier this year in a Totême lookbook. More of a shawl, I’m after those chic layers that can add interest. I’m also jumping on the silver jewellery trend and Lie Studios – started by Copenhagen-based twins – is such a lovely brand. I’ve also been lusting after *that* Khaite studded belt. Colour-wise, I’m keen to mix it up – think the usual black and navy but with pops of silver and the colour of the season: brown.
