FOR TOTAL PRIVACY:

Cornwell Manor

The beauty of Cornwell Manor is that you can have it all to yourself. The Georgian-fronted manor is available for exclusive hire for a minimum of three days over a weekend between June and the end of September. There are multiple wedding settings to choose from, be it the intimate ballroom, a church wedding followed by a marquee reception, or an outdoor ceremony in the gardens. Just be aware that the venue operates a strict no-fireworks policy to avoid disruption for neighbours and wildlife, and music can only be played inside a marquee or indoors in the ballroom between 10pm and 1am. A three-day weekend celebration from noon on Thursday to 5pm on Sunday will cost £29,500, while bank holiday weekends are £33,750. A full breakdown of prices can be found here.

FOR INTERIORS FANS:

Kin House

Kin House caused real buzz when it opened in 2022, not least because the Grade II-listed property is set within beautiful walled gardens and has been sensitively restored to its former glory by interior designer Lucy Barlow. Licensed to hold civil ceremonies, it has lots of spots to get married in the house or around the grounds – whether you’re planning a day for 20 or 200. Afterwards, you’ll find Kilvert Hall in a separate wing of the house, with a bar, dance floor and curtained stage area for live music – making it the perfect place for your reception. The whole of Kin House is available for exclusive hire, so you can enjoy having the entire place to yourself. Rates start from £15,640 for a one-night midweek wedding through to £32,750 for a two-night weekend takeover. A full breakdown can be found here.

FOR GRAND AFFAIRS:

Sudeley Castle

Home to Lady Ashcombe and the Dent-Brocklehurst family, Sudeley boasts more than 1,000 years of history. Set amid 1,200 acres of rolling grounds, it offers a limited number of wedding dates each year to make sure each couple receives undivided attention. Although the setting is best suited to couples looking for larger, grander venues, the team specialises in bespoke celebrations, and will be on hand throughout the planning process and on the day itself to ensure everything runs smoothly. Ceremony venues include a historic chapel, the castle library and an array of romantic backdrops dotted throughout the grounds, and there are a range of spaces available to host the reception afterwards. Exclusive one-day and two-day hire are £20,000 and £33,500 respectively, but collective use is available from £5,500-£7,500 depending on the time of year.

FOR MODERN BRIDES:

Primrose Hill Farm

If grand stately homes aren’t your vibe, check out Primrose Hill Farm. Based on the ‘farm barn’ concept that’s synonymous with the Cotswolds, the Grade II-listed buildings and courtyards have had a thoroughly modern update to make them the perfect backdrop for contemporary weddings. The Farm Barns have a range of versatile and unique spaces for both intimate and larger celebrations, with the lawns, orchards, courtyards and open fields all available to you and your guests. As evening descends, the Courtyard Barn transforms into a fun party space. There’s also accommodation and getting-ready areas available. Farm Barns exclusive hire ranges from £4,250 up to £8,950 depending on the time of year, while catering prices start from £72 plus VAT per guest.

FOR UNFORGETTABLE BACKDROPS:

Euridge Manor

Euridge Manor is now available for a limited number of exclusive weekend and midweek weddings. The private home offers a bespoke hire package, including exclusive use of the grounds and accommodation for 11 guests, with the option to add cottages for larger groups. The on-site team can also recommend trusted supplier partners and suggest ideas on how to enhance each of the available spaces. Just bear in mind this is a ‘dry hire’ venue so marquee vendors, florists and caterers will all need to be brought in. Prices are on request but, during peak wedding season, the minimum price you can expect to pay is around £23,000 plus VAT.

FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT:

Sezincote

Sezincote is a theatrical and magical summer venue that’s available from mid-May to mid-September – but it only hosts nine weddings a year. The only authentically Mughal Palace in northern Europe, the house was built in the Indian style in 1805 and was the inspiration for Brighton Pavilion. Perfect for a wedding celebration. its onion dome, minarets and curved Orangery – which encloses a Persian garden of paradise – make it the perfect choice for brides looking for a unique or perhaps multi-cultural setting. Civil ceremonies can either be held in the Orangery (220 capacity) or the dining room (70 capacity) and there are two bridal suites available from 9.30am. Receptions are held on the lawns in the Persian garden, before a marquee plays host to dinner and a party, with a cut-off time of 12.15am. The on-site teams can suggest preferred suppliers; an event package price of £13,600 plus VAT includes exclusive use of the venue but not marquee hire, lighting or catering.

FOR A RUSTIC FEEL:

Caswell House

We’ve mentioned the farm barn concept already, and Caswell House is a particularly special example of it. Exclusively yours for the day, the property dates back to the 15th century. With original honey-coloured Cotswold stone buildings, an ancient orchard and elegantly styled bedrooms – including a honeymoon suite – it has everything you need for a memorable wedding day. There’s capacity for 140 ceremony guests, 200 evening reception guests, and there are two separate preparation spaces for the bride and groom. Exchange vows in the beautiful barns or enjoy your ceremony outside if weather allows. You’ll also have access to the landscaped courtyards for your drinks reception, while the barns are converted for the evening celebrations. Venue hire ranges from £2,500 to £9,750 including VAT.

FOR TRADITIONAL BRIDES:

Elmore Court

Elmore Court is the perfect choice for traditional brides looking for an intimate but still impressive venue. The house and gardens are exclusively yours to take your vows in front of friends and family, before everyone moves across to the Gillyflower for dinner and dancing – a space that’s been sustainably built (and soundproofed) using materials found on the estate. Able to host civil and other ceremonies, the Hall is a wonderful wedding space, although the 13th-century Elmore Church is less than a mile away for anyone looking for a religious ceremony. Exclusive hire of the house, gardens and the Gillyflower for a day, a night (with breakfast the following morning) and important things like your choice of bridal suite, costs between £6,000 and £15,000 depending on the day of the week and time of year. Food and drink are an addition.

FOR WINTER WEDDINGS:

The Painswick

If you’re planning an autumnal or winter wedding, The Painswick is our top choice. There, you’ll be guided by an in-house wedding planner and team who can organise everything from florists to bespoke menus. Prices start from £16,000 for a 24-hour midweek wedding or £33,000 for a 48-hour weekend wedding including the use of 17 bedrooms, food and drink and a venue hire fee. However, anyone booking between November 2024 and February 2025 can enjoy up to 15% off room rates at the weekend, 20% off rooms on some winter midweek dates and a reduced rate for venue hire (up to 50% off for a two-night weekend).

FOR SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS:

Thyme

Even though it doesn’t have a licence to perform legal wedding ceremonies on site, it would have been remiss to exclude Thyme from this list – especially when it’s available for exclusive hire for special celebrations. There are 31 bedrooms spread across the Georgian rectory, 17th-century farmhouse, garden rooms and cottages, with winding pathways leading you through the surrounding gardens. With a maximum capacity for 62 guests, you will have private access to the Tithe Barn, Farmhouse, Meadow spa and Baa bar. There’s a two-night minimum stay for weddings and also on weekends (Friday and Saturday). The Ox Barn restaurant is available as an addition. Prices are available on request.
