Everything A Chic Bridal Brand Owner Is Loving Right Now
All products on this page have been selected by our editorial team, however we may make commission on some products.
The Real-Life Wedding
I loved Bettina Looney’s wedding in South Africa. Every detail was perfection and the day-two personalised pieces were incredible. My sister Olivia’s winter wedding a few days before Christmas was also magical – lots of carols and candles in the church, Christmas trees and a beautiful marquee lined with patterned fabric and flowers by Tattie Rose. It felt festive, intimate and elevated. She also had this amazing photobooth that felt like a Vanity Fair spread – the perfect activity in between drinks and dancing.
The Content Creators
The wedding content creator trend shows no sign of slowing down. Brides love having access to content the day after, even if they aren’t oversharing on socials. We work a lot with Content for Brides – they capture everything beautifully – Social Soirée and Wed Social. I also think Bridal stylists are becoming a real moment, for both the bride and the event itself. I love Nicole Amarise, founder of Atelier Amarise.
The Trend
I love the lace trend – there are so many ways to incorporate it into your wedding, whether it’s your dress, veil or styling details like stationery or signage. It’s both nostalgic and timeless. It’s hard to say what’s ‘out’ in weddings because everyone should do exactly what they like, however we are seeing less of the one or two long banquet table layouts. Instead, couples are becoming more playful with serpentine tables, rounds and mixed layouts, which create much more movement and atmosphere within the space.
The Colours
Whites always play a big role in weddings but right now, I’m also loving blush and nude undertones, especially when it comes to layering and lace detailing. We also do a lot of embroidery in tones like sage, baby blue and gold.
The Stationery
I love Ten Story. The founder Olivia has such a unique style and everything feels extra special and detail oriented. Elsa Works is also beautiful. I love the hand-drawn illustrations, as well as her playfulness and use of colour.
The Jewellery
There’s a reason Sophie Whitelaw is blowing up at the moment. Her bespoke pieces, combined with the behind-the-scenes design process she shares, really resonate. Brides and fiancés love designing their own ring and feeling part of that journey.
The Dress Brands
I had a bespoke dress made from Emma Beaumont and it was so beautiful; I loved going through the design process with her. My advice is really to think about your setting – what a London bride chooses to wear will probably be quite different to someone getting married in the country. Some other favourite brands of mine include The Own Studio for a city wedding, California-based Cinq for a romantic vibe and Kricket Atelier for corsetry and incredible after party looks.
The Groom’s Tailoring
My husband wore Thom Sweeney and it was so well made. Drake's is another great British option on Savile Row and it’s also shaping up to be a great year for Ralph Lauren.
The Fun Accessories
I have to plug Gigi & Olive here. For hen dos, I’d recommend our embroidered caps, embroidered slippers, embroidered spa headbands or our personalised tank tops. We’ve also just launched our bridal sarong in four new colours for bridesmaids. For newly-engaged couples, our wedding planner is honestly the best gift – full of helpful advice, tips and tricks and you can monogram it too. Other lovely gift ideas include our embroidered pillowcase set and bride gift box.
The Caterers
Doggart & Squash does delicious catering but also plan lots of the on-the-day co-ordinating. I often think the caterers are the base for the timeline, so having a business that can also lead on that side of things is incredible. People are also doing really interesting things with desserts, like giant tiramisus, huge pavlovas and tiered vintage wedding cakes. I used April’s Baker and we also work a lot with The Pink Cooker. I also love Süss Cakes Studio – I love the fruit cakes and the different textures that look like clouds. One of our bestselling products is our engraved cake knife and it’s because we’re seeing so many people incorporate the pudding moment back into their weddings.
The Planners
We work a lot with GSP, Alice Wilkes and By Chenai. We also worked with Matthew Oliver Weddings last summer on Grace Beverly’s wedding – we created all her day-two pool party merch. Working with these wedding planners is an aspect of our business we really love and I’d recommend every one of them.
The Photographers & Videographers
Benjamin Wheeler was my wedding photographer – my husband jokes that I chose our date based on Ben’s availability, which may hold some truth. I also love Helaina Storey’s work – she captures everything so beautifully and delivers quickly. I also love The Curries for relaxed and sentimental portraits and Emily Rose Hamilton for more editorial shots. I nearly didn’t have a videographer but changed my mind two weeks before my own wedding. I’m glad I did as there really is nothing like a video to look back on. I love Soby Films’ editorial pieces and Amore Films’ work on Super 8 film. Tynegate Films captures beautiful, editorial and timeless shots – his wedding videos are like feature films.
The Venues
Petersham Nurseries is the perfect London venue if you’re looking for whimsical romance. Spring has stunning food and light airy interiors and Daphne’s is perfect for intimate celebrations. The Fitzrovia Chapelis also a beautiful ceremony venue. If we’re talking a bit further afield, The Fortaleza in Mallorca is very special and has a breathtaking backdrop. Villa Aurelia in Rome is an extraordinary space and has a lovely courtyard for dinner. Villa Astor in Sorrento – on the clifftops overlooking the sea – is also unbelievably beautiful.
The Entertainment
There’s something so important about having the kind of entertainment at a wedding that can fill a multi-generational dancefloor. My brother runs ALR Music and they really are the masters – if music and dancing are important to you, you need experienced professionals who know how to read a room and manage the energy. Beat is my favourite band, Superfly are amazing if you’re looking for something Motown-inspired and a lot of my friends have had DJ Charles and the ALR Live Experience, which always delivers. Pinky Studio is also an amazing poet who can either create live poetry at your wedding or personalised name-card poems, which feels really intimate and unexpected. I also like a proper cocktail moment and The Drunken Jockeys are brilliant – it’s where bartending meets live theatre.
The Planning Tool
We’ve been working on the Gigi & Olive Directory for the past six months – it feels like a very natural next step for us. For years, our brides have asked us where to find the best suppliers or the new and exciting venues. At the same time, lots of those suppliers feel there isn’t a truly curated space like this. Many directories focus on quantity, which makes it hard for couples to find the right fit and equally hard for suppliers to stand out. The Gigi & Olive Directory will be a curated space where values-driven brands can connect with the modern bride.
