My Wedding Beauty Prep: Olivia Rose

Content creator and make-up artist Olivia Rose just tied the knot – and in the run-up to the big day she was deep into her pre-wedding beauty prep. From microneedling and dermaplaning to glowy skin tints, she mapped out a routine that was equal parts effective and luxe. Here are the products and rituals she relied on to look and feel her best when she walked down the aisle…

TREATMENTS

I’ve really committed to a consistent routine over the past nine months. Hydrafacials and microneedling have been my go-to combination for the best bridal skin. Hydrafacials give me that immediate glow – they cleanse, exfoliate and leave my skin feeling hydrated and fresh. Microneedling is more of a long game but I love what it does for collagen production and smoothing out texture.

As the wedding got closer, I added dermaplaning into the mix. It gives me that flawless, peach-fuzz-free finish that make-up just glides over. I also stuck  to daily gua sha and facial massage – especially in the mornings – to de-puff and lift. I keep my tools chilled in the fridge too, which helps calm everything down.

SKINCARE

My skincare routine is simple, consistent and all about hydration and texture. I use a personalised Skin + Me prescription and pair it with my favourite La Roche-Posay moisturiser. I’m not into anything too fussy – just reliable products that do what they say on the tin.

NAILS

I kept the manicure classic – long, oval-shaped nails in a soft, neutral pink. I used BIAB (Builder in a Bottle) gel for strength and staying power, and I love that it still looks really natural. Lauren at Lady Luck does my nails and she’s incredible. We chose The Gel Bottle’s shade No.19 for the big day – it photographs beautifully and feels timeless. I flew out to Spain for the wedding, so Lauren also did a Russian manicure to keep everything looking neat and polished from start to finish.

HAIR

For me, pre-wedding haircare was all about nourishment. I used Moroccan Oil treatments religiously – they keep my hair soft, shiny and protected. I also used scalp treatments from Arkive regularly. Healthy hair starts at the root, so I’ve really focused on that too.

For colour, I go to Ryan Steedman. He enhances my natural tones and gives me that rich, sun-kissed finish without making it feel too ‘done’. Since the wedding was happening abroad, I’ve wanted to be really careful about sun and chlorine damage during the summer. I used UV sprays and leave-in conditioner every time I swam – anything to keep my hair in good shape.

Thassio Leal did my hair on the day. He just understands curly hair, specifically how to elevate the texture while keeping it soft. We went for a half-up, half-down style with big, fluffy Zendaya-style curls – I also added custom extensions for that extra bit of drama.

MAKE-UP

I know I want a timeless look with a modern edge – think luminous skin, soft definition and lots of blush (my favourite product). I just wanted to look like the best version of myself – fresh, glowy and not overly ‘done’.

The base was all about radiance that would actually last. I used Fenty’s Eaze Drop Skin Tint for that second-skin finish, layered with Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Filter for glow. For concealer, I swear by the one from Haus Labs – it’s high coverage, blends beautifully and never turns cakey. I love to layer blush for extra dimension, using the Haus Labs Glassy Blush Balm topped with powder blush to lock it in.

For eyes, I used the Makeup by Mario Master Mattes palette – the colours add soft definition without looking heavy. I added a bit of shimmer in the inner corners and used individual lashes on the outer corners for a fluttery finish. I’m using Lashify so they’ll stay in place. Brows were groomed and polished – nothing too structured – and for lips, I went with a creamy nude finished with YSL’s Candy Glaze gloss. It gives you that glossy, hydrated look without the stickiness.

Setting spray is a must. I layer Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Setting Spray throughout the application process, then finish with One/Size’s Mattifying Spray for complete staying power. I also kept papers, a mini setting spray and a few touch-up essentials in my bridal bag.

TANNING

I prefer a natural, sun-kissed look – with lots of SPF. I avoid heavy fake tans and instead use a gradual tanner like Isle of Paradise a few days beforehand. It builds slowly and evenly, which gives you that really natural finish without any of the stress.

BROWS

I do my own brows – I’ve always used Tweezerman tweezers and they’re the only ones I trust. I go for a softly brushed-up look with a bit of fullness. I use Anastasia’s Brow Freeze to hold everything in place, and a few strokes of Charlotte Tilbury’s Brow Cheat for added definition.

WELLNESS

I start every morning with gua sha, a stretch and a cup of tea – it’s my favourite way to begin the day. In the evenings, I do a wind-down version with yoga, skincare and my Lumie light on sunset mode. I honestly think sleep is the best beauty tip out there – it impacts my skin, my mood and how I feel in general, so I always prioritise it.

Just before the wedding, we stayed at a wellness hotel to ease into the celebrations. It had everything – a gym, daily yoga, a saltwater pool and a really peaceful atmosphere. The food was light and nourishing too. It just gave us the space to stay in our routine while also enjoying some quiet before the excitement kicks in. With my own bridal clients, I always say environment matters – when you feel calm, it shows up in how you look and feel.
