How An LG Spends A Weekend In Lisbon
FRIDAY
Will be a day to settle into the city and browse the amazing boutiques and vintage shops. But first, you must fuel up at Dear Breakfast. The halloumi pancakes are stunning. Latte Lisbon is a small streetwear shop set in the middle of Lisbon's Chiado area. The two guys who own it love to chat through their designs, collabs and even the significance of the art they’ve chosen for the space. It’s a great spot to pick up an oversized graphic tee.
Portugal is rich in clay and has been making ceramics for centuries. I love the small studio BRUS which is just around the corner from Latte Lisbon. An inexpensive spot to pick up a memento bracelet would be Linha Aerea – Portugal is also renowned for its silver. But on the way, stop by POP Closet and The Feeting Room, both of which stock a range of vintage and independent brands. Manteigaria makes the most amazing pastel de nata – a must-try when you’re in Lisbon – then, stroll down to Praça do Comércio and Cais das Colunas to take in the beautiful architecture and views along the way. Finish off at Boavista Social Club for delicious cocktails and tasty tapas accompanied by a moody vinyl DJ set.
SATURDAY
Starts at The Folks Blue Street for a big breakfast. I would recommend the tiramisu latte. Twice a week, Lisbon has a flea market where you can spend the day looking for hidden gems. Feira da Ladra was set up in 1903 and is the perfect place to spend your Saturday afternoon. Dallas Burger Joint is such a fun spot, complete with cheesy bacon fries and an amazing burger menu. To carry on the night, head to the Park Rooftop Bar. Once a rooftop parking lot, this space is now where all the cool kids hang out. Take in the stunning view of the Tagus River, dance to some live music or even catch one of their outdoor movie screenings.
Sunday
Morning has to begin at my favourite coffee shop. Dramatico is small, beautiful and uses La Cabra coffee beans. Fuel up with the Çılbır poached eggs from COMOBÅ before heading out east of the city to see the famous São Jorge Castle. This gorgeous lookout point sits on a hill and is one of the most emblematic symbols of Lisbon. Grab a quick cocktail from the Red Frog speakeasy bar before heading out to dinner. You have two options: the fun, quick and easy option is La Malquerida for tasty tacos, but you could sit and share some small plates from Rosetta’s instead – I am still dreaming about their Milanese mint salad.
