LG’s Steph Shares Her Favourite Foodie Spots
New York City – Lilia
New York has one of the most exciting food scenes in the world, but Lilia stands out. Housed in a former auto body shop in Williamsburg, this pasta institution serves up dishes you’ll be thinking about for months. The sheep’s milk agnolotti was insane.

Amsterdam – Kikkie
The perfect place to catch up before a day of exploring the city, the interiors here are cute and unfussy, the wine is always flowing and the burgers are just so good. A proper local gem that hits the spot every time.

Barcelona – Maldita
Maldita is where modern Catalan cooking meets mood lighting and natural wine. A perfect late-night dinner spot after a day of roaming the Gothic Quarter, order everything to share and settle in for the evening.

Dublin – Host
Warm, lively and always filled with the right kind of people, Host nails the Italian-with-an-Irish-twist brief. The tasting menu is a must – generous, affordable and ever-changing, it’s ideal for a Friday night with friends.

Manchester – Ezra & Gil
I’ll say it: Manchester has the best brunch scene outside of Australia. Ezra & Gil makes sure you never go home hungry, with loaded plates of nduja eggs and chorizo hash. It also does a mean Bloody Mary.

Paris – Dreamin Man & Mamiche
Paris is all about cafés and boulangerie. Depending on your mood, Dreamin Man is small, aesthetic and for real coffee lovers. Meanwhile, Mamiche makes an iconic cinnamon roll that actually deserves the hype.

Lisbon – Rosetta’s
Rosetta’s does simple, soulful plates in a chic, airy space. Each small dish is totally unique and full of flavour. Perfect for lunch before grabbing a warm pastel de nata from Manteigaria just around the corner.

Los Angeles – Dialog Cafe
Family-run and always welcoming, Dialog is my go-to in West Hollywood. California knows how to do a burrito and this is the best. Order the breakfast burrito, grab a coffee and stroll to the Melrose Trading Post to find hidden vintage gems.

Chicago – Le Colonial
Tucked up and away from a busy street, this place genuinely took my breath away. Le Colonial oozes old-world charm, with upscale Vietnamese dishes and some of the best mezcal cocktails I’ve ever had.

Ibiza – Es Boldado
Magical in every sense, Es Boldado is set high above the sea with the perfect view of Es Vedrà, making it more than worth the winding drive. Order the salt-baked fish and watch the sun set.

Galway – Kai
The food scene in Galway, my hometown, is genuinely so good but Kai is my go-to spot whenever I return. It’s based in the West End and its farm-to-table approach is experimental while also feeling incredibly homely. It also has its own bakery and the cakes are a must-try.

London – St John Bread & Wine
London’s food scene is top-tier but you really cannot beat the classic that is St John. The nose-to-tail approach feels very British, and it’s a rite of passage for food lovers. Definitely one to bring the parents to when they visit.

Rome – Pommidoro dal 1890 Ristorante
How does one pick just one pasta spot in Rome? I came to Pommidoro dal 1890 Ristorante on Stanley Tucci’s recommendation, but I stayed for the carbonara. Classic Roman dishes, tiled interiors and no frills. Everything you want from a proper trattoria.

Florence – L’Osteria Cucina Casalinga
A must for meat eaters. The steak here is unreal, as is the old-school charm, warm hospitality and that perfect Tuscan atmosphere. Enjoy a proper feast after a day of museum hopping.

Dubrovnik – Tavern Arka Restoran
Walk down a quiet set of stone steps and you’re met with a handful of candlelit tables overlooking the water. Tavern Arka is tucked away from the crowds and serves fresh seafood in the most atmospheric of settings.

Mexico City – Birria Los Güeros De Juanacatlán
We did a taco tour of the city, booked via Airbnb Experiences and this was by far my favourite stop. Right off the side of a busy street, it felt loud, chaotic and electric. The birria tacos were rich, messy and completely unforgettable.
Dubai – Jun’s
I get to visit Dubai often as we film there for SheerLuxe Middle East, and Jun’s was a real standout. We spent one evening there with Chef Kelvin Cheung, who talked us through his 11-course tasting menu, each dish drawing on stories from his childhood. So inventive, it was a meal I’ll never forget.
