From work to the weekend, London’s culture scene calls for an eclectic mix of looks. Here, stylish young creative Tom Jamieson shares his favourite spots and go-to outfits…

Look 1: Exhibition Visit

The Diva Exhibition

V&A South Kensington

One of my favourite pastimes on a rainy day in London is visiting an exhibition, and a recent standout has been the Divas exhibition at the V&A. Showcasing some of the most iconic and extravagant outfits worn by the world’s greatest divas – think Tina Turner and Whitney Houston – it’s a must-visit for fashion fans. I love wearing boots on rainy summer days; I think it gives an otherwise classic outfit some edge. A crossbody bag is essential for a day out, too, and this one from COS fits all the essentials.

Look 2: Pre-Work Coffee Run

Hagen

Various Locations

Taking the time to get a coffee before work makes me feel ready for a busy day ahead. My go-to is Hagen, whose Danish coffee and pastries are taking London by storm. A mini bag is perfect to fit all your daily essentials and I love collecting them in bright colours so I can wear them with my wardrobe staples – like this double-breasted blazer and white tee.

Look 3: Canoeing

The Milk Float

Hackney Wick

I love this look for the transitional period. I’d wear this outfit for an off-duty afternoon spent in the sun at The Milk Float, a floating venue on the water at Hackney Wick, which hosts a range of local artisan food and drink events. You can also hire a canoe if you’re feeling a little more adventurous.

Look 4: Dinner

Jolene

Stoke Newington

Nothing quite beats the excitement of a new restaurant discovery, and Jolene is one to remember. The menu changes weekly, serving constant surprises and consistent satisfaction. Weekend dinners call for something chic but comfortable, and these wide-leg trousers are perfectly roomy but still look refined. I think a tonal outfit looks effortlessly chic, but I can never resist a pop of colour – and this combination delivers on both.

Look 5: Brunch

Friends Of Ours

Shoreditch

Sunday mornings are the ultimate comfort hours and brunch is usually on the cards. After some ‘Nduja eggs with sourdough at Friends Of Ours, my perfect Sunday is spent wandering around Shoreditch and into Brick Lane market, where I always find something to bring home with me. A day like this calls for smart athleisure, and the cropped body and dropped shoulder on this hoodie give it a more elevated look.

Look 6: Show At The Barbican

The Barbican Centre

East London always has an amazing range of shows and entertainment ,and I recently had the opportunity to watch A Strange Loop at the Barbican Centre – both entertaining and deeply moving. I think mixing a tight tank with some baggy trousers creates a more dramatic look, and I topped this one off with a sleek scarf in my hair to keep everything in place.
