What’s New & Noteworthy In The AI World
THE FASHION SHOW
Nick Knight x H&M
Nick Knight brought AI to London Fashion Week this month, teaming up with H&M and SHOWstudio on an interactive fashion show. Knight photographed model Alex Consani and actor Archie Renaux, while artist Cliff Warner created illustrations. AI then turned the stills into moving visuals in real time as the models walked the runway, creating a constantly changing digital backdrop. It’s a glimpse at how AI could reshape fashion imagery without replacing the creatives behind it.

THE CREATIVE TOOL
Claude Design
Anthropic launched Claude Design in April, giving Claude a more visual, design-focused role. Rather than using AI solely to generate text, users can collaborate with it on things such as presentations, prototypes, one-pagers and visual concepts. It is part of the broader move towards AI becoming a creative collaborator rather than just a writing assistant.

THE PROJECT
Be Brave
AI isn't only becoming the subject of films – it's starting to change how films are made. This documentary about Diesel founder Renzo Rosso, which premiered at Venice, combines traditional interviews and archive footage with AI-generated imagery to recreate parts of his childhood where no original footage exists. It raises a particularly interesting question for the creative industries: when AI can fill in the gaps, where does reconstruction end and invention begin? Talking heads include Anna Wintour and designer John Galliano.

THE NEW LAUNCH
Muse
Meta’s new AI assistant is designed to do more than answer questions. Launched in September, Muse can take on multi-step tasks such as finding deals, cancelling subscriptions and completing actions online, moving AI further towards the idea of a personal digital assistant rather than a chatbot. It’s available as a standalone app and through WhatsApp, with Meta positioning it as a more proactive kind of AI.

THE PODCAST
Black Box: The Chatbots
What happens when you start believing your chatbot is helping you make scientific breakthroughs? Black Box: The Chatbots is a new investigative podcast exploring the increasingly blurred line between AI-generated answers and reality. Across the series, people share stories of how they became convinced they had cured diseases, invented new technologies or made major scientific discoveries with the help of AI. As chatbots become part of everyday life, the series asks what our growing reliance on them reveals about how we use – and believe – AI.

THE BROWSER
Kitesurf
What if your browser was designed for AI rather than humans? Cloudflare’s Kitesurf, launched in August, is a cloud-based browser built specifically for AI agents. Instead of worrying about tabs, visual layouts and extensions, it’s designed to let AI navigate websites and complete tasks. Think of it as part of a growing shift towards AI that can actually do things on your behalf, rather than simply tell you how to do them.

THE DOCUMENTARY
The AI Doc: Or How I Became An Apocaloptimist
Not sure whether to be excited or terrified by AI? This documentary – released earlier this year – tackles that exact question. Directed by the same team behind Navalny and produced by the filmmakers behind Everything Everywhere All At Once, it follows director Daniel Roher as he tries to understand what AI could mean for the world his future child will inherit. Rather than taking a purely optimistic or catastrophic view, it explores both the technology's potential and the risks that come with it.

THE FILM
Artificial
One to have on your radar, Luca Guadagnino's new film dramatises the rise of OpenAI and the extraordinary events surrounding Sam Altman's removal and reinstatement as CEO. Andrew Garfield plays Altman, with Yura Borisov, Monica Barbaro and Mark Rylance also starring. It will have its international premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in October, followed up by a release on Christmas Day, making it one of the year's most unexpected intersections of AI and pop culture.

THE UPGRADE
Gemini 3.5
Google’s latest AI push goes beyond simply giving Gemini a smarter chatbot. At Google I/O in May, it introduced Gemini 3.5 Flash, designed to combine reasoning with the ability to take action, alongside new AI experiences across Search, shopping, Workspace and YouTube. One of the more interesting additions is Universal Cart, which is designed to let you build a shopping cart across Google Search, Gemini, YouTube and Gmail.
