The Best New Beauty Buys Under £30
Kitten Lash Mascara, £29 | Lisa Eldridge
This is one of the best mascaras we’ve ever tried. Promising fluttery definition, it has a curved brush that hugs every tiny lash for flawless root-to-tip definition. We love to use the slightly pointed tip to edge out the lashes at the corner for that elongated, feline effect. Just a couple of coats will beef up even the sparsest of lashes or keep going for more impact and volume – it’s very easy to layer.

Garnier Vitamin C Daily UV Brightening Fluid Glow SPF50+, £12.99 | Garnier
This new, peachy-toned sunscreen is one of our favourite launches of 2024 so far. With a pearlescent quality, it skims skin with a soft sheen, perking it up gently, all while protecting it from UVA and UVB rays. The addition of vitamin C means that, with regular wear, it helps to brighten skin, minimise dark spots and protect against dulling pollution. Easily one of the best you’ll find on a budget, this SPF is thin and lightweight and never stingy or irritating either – you can take this right up to your eyes.

Fields At Nightfall EDP, £17.99 | Zara
When it comes to affordable fragrances, it’s hard to beat Zara’s impressive collection – if you’ve not tried them before, we recommend heading in store to give them a go. This new ‘Fields at Nightfall’ scent is well worth investigating ahead of the new season. Warm and mellow, it brings together notes of creamy praline, fresh jasmine and smoky sandalwood. It’s a unique blend that’s feminine, but never sickly or offensive. It’s light with a breezy quality to it that will appeal to all – specifically those who enjoy their scents on the clean and musky side.

Anti-Aging Tanning Serum, £28 | Coco & Eve
New from Coco & Eve, this lightweight formula is full of good stuff, including niacinamide and polyglutamic acid – both of which work together to reduce redness and firm the skin over time. The colour is impressive, too – transfer-free, it builds quickly to give an even, natural shade that lasts for days. Because it’s a serum, it’s easy to blend out – just make sure you massage it in thoroughly to ensure you don’t miss any spots.

Multi-Tasker Better Than This Filters, £12.99 | Rimmel
Rimmel is having a moment, with new, super affordable formulas, including this new versatile hybrid. A primer, tint and illuminator in one, just a few sweeps of this helps to perk up dull, lifeless skin, giving it better warmth, glow and definition immediately. You can wear it on its own when you’re after just a hint of something or over/under make-up, but we recommend the latter for a more natural, luminous effect.

Money Mist Leave In Conditioner, £30 | Color Wow
Color Wow is renowned for its cult Dream Coat product, but now it’s expanding its line-up with this innovative mist. Designed to thwart frizz, enhance shine and deeply nourish all hair types, it’s a leave-in conditioner, but it never feels heavy or greasy. You’ll immediately see hair has a glossier, smoother quality, while ingredients like rice brand, baobab and botanicals seal in moisture, boosting hair’s elasticity to keep it supple and strong. It also acts as a heat and UV protector – in short, it does a bit of everything and it does so very well. We love that it also makes hair more manageable and easy to style.

Bags Be Gone Eye Wand, £19.99 (was £24.99) | StylPro
While nothing will miraculously rid eye bags, this LED-based wand helps to stimulate the area, boosting blood flow and strengthening the skin with red lights. The result? A smoother surface, less puffiness and a more even tone. Apply a serum or cream first, then move this gently around the eye in upward motions. The warmth not only feels good, but it also takes down any irritation and keeps redness at bay. You need to use it consistently, and will see slight improvements in time. It’s a very soothing addition to your routine – specifically at nighttime.

Lash Idole Eyeblusher Tint, £29.65 | Lancôme
Silky, pigmented and long-lasting, these new eye tints from Lancôme tick all the right boxes. They also have plenty of playtime before they set and dry, so you can work with them easily to create the type of look you’re after. They come with a handy rounded brush that makes application a doddle. There are six neutral tones to choose from, but 02 (a champagne pink) is a favourite among make-up artists, as it’s soft and flattering. With tiny amounts of shimmer, you’ll find these catch the light nicely and brighten the entire eye area.

Soft Pinch Luminous Blush Powder, £26 | Rare Beauty
These new blushers have caused a stir for good reason. With a silky texture and versatile formula, they work to brighten, define and warm skin up while a blend of nourishing, botanical ingredients soften and hydrate. They glide onto skin with a light-as-air powder texture, before melting in and staying put – never looking chalky or ashy. The in-built, light-reflective pearls give skin a fresh, healthy glow we love. There are six shades to choose from but ‘Cheer’ is our favourite for a pink-y tint. There’s also ‘Terracotta’ which is great for sculpting skin and warming it up.

Super Shower Power Body Polish, £28 | NEOM
This does-it-all wash from NEOM buffs away at dead, dull skin cells while simultaneously cleaning and hydrating your limbs. It’s zesty and fresh with notes of spearmint, rosemary and eucalyptus – all of which are designed to clear your head and boost your mood. As you massage it in, little coffee grounds get to work, softening and smoothing, while oat milk locks in hydration. Perfect ahead of the summer months, it’s the ultimate antidote to lacklustre, winter skin that’s been hidden away under clothes.

The Lippie Stick, £22 | Jones Road
Blending the benefits of a balm with a wash of sheer colour, these new chapsticks from Jones Road look polished but not OTT. Available in 11 suits-all shades, there’s one for every preference, though we love Miami Beach – a wearable yet vivid coral that brightens both skin and teeth and is perfect for summer.

Golden Glow Bronzer, £25 | Trinny London
You can always rely on Trinny’s beauty products, and these new bronzers are no exception. Shimmer-free, they don’t settle into fine lines, instead they just come with soft, bronze tones that provide a healthy-looking warmth and subtle definition. The shades are flattering – there are four to choose from – and never muddy or ashy in tone, unlike some cream bronzers. As these are a cream, you’ll find they are easy to apply and blend out. Use a small amount with a brush, focusing on the areas of your face that the sun would naturally hit for some natural sculpting.
