10 Cool Things For Mothers & Kids: August

From maternity workwear by J.Crew to Peppa Pig wellies designed by Hunter, here are ten parent-approved products and activities to know about this month…

Micralite

Micralite has launched its most compact and lightweight stroller yet, complete with an intuitive one-handed fold. Perfect for travelling or apartment living, the ProFold comes with added four-wheel suspension. It’s compact too: small enough to fit in any car boot or overhead train storage, the stroller is within the cabin baggage allowance for British Airways, Jet 2 and Easyjet. Users can store all the essentials in the large, easy-to-access basket, and there’s a generous pocket on the hood too – so your phone, card and keys are always close to hand.

The brand was created with the need to protect children’s sensitive skin in mind and produces two collections a year. Organic materials are used to create sustainable clothing for boys and girls. Of the newest edit, we love the frilled sunhats, straw boaters and pretty patterned swimsuits.

Mango has launched its latest ‘mini me’ collection. Fronted by model Lily Masson and her daughter Lily, the new campaign features mother and daughter dupes embellished with pleats, stripes, ruffles and embroidery. We’re a big fan of the monochrome collection of outfits, especially when it comes to the matching scallop-edged swimsuits priced at £19.99 for women and £11.99 for children.

Birth Stories With Clemmie Hooper

In new podcast Birth Stories, midwife and mother of four Clemmie Hooper (aka Mother of Daughters) chats to brilliant guests about the amazing ways they had their babies, looking honestly at the highs and lows of childbirth in a weekly show. In episode one, Clemmie meets the author Francesca Segal. Francesca's identical twin daughters were born prematurely by emergency c-section at 30 weeks, and spent the first 56 days of their lives in a neonatal intensive care unit. Francesca and Clemmie discuss instincts, how it felt to be separated from the babies and what it was like when they finally came home.

J.Crew x Hatch

J.Crew has revealed its collaboration with HATCH: a limited-edition maternity capsule, perfectly suited for the workplace. One of the most challenging aspects of pregnancy is finding a workwear wardrobe for a changing body. The HATCH x J.Crew collection has been designed by a team of working mothers and comprises a collection of 25 redesigned, best-selling work pieces designed for all three trimesters and beyond. We love the ‘Regent’ blazer and ‘Resume’ dress, both J.Crew classics, reinterpreted for the maternity market with extra room and length for a growing belly.
