Faune

These beautiful, vintage-inspired night dresses are made in a small family-run factory in India who believe very strongly in worker's rights and equal pay. Faune follows the concept of slow fashion and does not react to the constant changing trends. Instead its pieces are timeless, keepsake garments to be treasured and handed down through generations. Of the current collection, we love the ‘Embroidered Wren’, with signature wings which are finished with beautiful scalloping and embroidered cutwork, and the ‘Olive’, a traditional dress with an embroidered peter pan collar and longer length. Bedtimes have never looked so pretty.

Gus And Beau

After watching their young son grow, toddle and play, the owners of Gus And Beau spotted a gap in the market; a premium playmat that was not only functional and safe but complemented their modern home’s style and aesthetic. Many playmats on the market are brightly coloured and ‘noisy’, whereas these will fit in with your home’s established look, from the kitchen to the playroom. Each box comes with six tiles, but you can order more for larger spaces – the mats can expand or shrink to the size you need. The tiles are made with EVA foam, which is BPA, lead and phthalate-free, and are easy to assemble. A stylish, branded box is the perfect place to store the mats when they’re not in use.

Labelistas

Labelistas create personalised, dishwasher-safe water bottle labels. Fed up with sticky labels coming off and marker pen fading, the team created its range of durable and reusable bottle labels for kids. Stylish and practical, they’re designed to make life easier for parents, childcare providers, teachers and children themselves. The labels are non-adhesive, reusable and personalised, and can be stretched to fit snuggly around almost any bottle, beaker or small container. They help children to recognise their name early on, and prevent bottle mix ups – avoiding spreading germs.

We’re most looking forward to the Horrible Histories Movie.

The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read by Phillipa Perry

Every parent wants their child to be happy and every parent wants to avoid screwing them up. But how do you achieve that? In this clever, funny new book, renowned psychotherapist Philippa Perry teaches us how to do both these things, and how to strengthen your child-parent relationships as adults. Perry offers a big-picture look at the elements that lead to good parent-child relationships. Instead of mapping out the 'perfect' plan, Perry details each stage of a child’s life – from pregnancy right up to adulthood (with a family of their own). Throughout, she delivers sage, authoritative advice which everyone can identify with, regardless of their parenting style. Read SL’s full review and Q&A with Philippa Perry here.
