The Night-Time Gadget No New Parent Should Be Without

Are you one of the unlucky ones whose newborn just won’t sleep through the night? Well, don’t despair because help is at hand – sleep experts Tommee Tippee have released the Dreammaker, a scientifically proven sound and light sleep aid which helps babies sleep better by simulating the ideal environment. Designed to encourage a deeper, longer sleep, here’s why every new parent should have one.

The Science...

Sleep is crucial to brain function and development – in both babies and parents. And with research revealing the average parent manages only four and a half hours’ sleep a night during their baby’s first year, it’s never been more important to find effective ways to get them sleeping through. Developed with a world-leading sleep laboratory and sleep scientists at Northumbria University, the Dreammaker is a unique, patent-pending sleep aid that relaxes your baby, encouraging them into a deep sleep and prolonging how long they stay asleep.

The Technology...

Did you know a quiet sleep environment is very unfamiliar to babies and makes it harder for them to fall asleep? That’s why the Dreammaker aims to simulate the ideal sleep conditions, rather than stimulating your baby. First, pink noise mimics the natural sounds of the womb and encourages babies to fall asleep faster, for longer. Red light also soothes and promotes the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone, while rhythmic pulses of soft light mimic the slow, deep breaths of a sleeping baby to calm them and help them drift off. Finally, the integrated CrySensor listens out for a baby’s cries during the night and automatically turns the device back on to soothe them back to sleep.

How It Works...

As it’s USB powered, the Dreammaker couldn’t be easier to use. Simply double tap the ring on the top of the product and select the light, sound and pulse settings to suit your preferences. That’s it.
