Style Watch: 7 Looks We Love This Week

Fans of the SheerLuxe Show will be familiar with our regular Style Watch section, in which we dissect the coolest looks we've seen lately. Well, we thought it was about time we brought it to the site too – from an eye-catching metallic suit to the colourful combo we love, here’s what our fashion team think.

LOOK 1

Charlotte Collins: This look is straight out the Isabel Marant playbook – I love the idea of adding long boots to a boilersuit instead of trainers or heels – it’s just a bit more wearable.

Lu Hough: I love how she’s used the good old sandwich rule with her accessories, adding two injections of black to break up the look. I agree, the black leather toughens up this pretty pastel jumpsuit and makes it look more wearable.

LOOK 2

LH: This look is so classic and timeless, and is making me want those Chanel slingbacks even more! I love the mix of a soft oversized knit half tucked into the structured pleats of the skirt.

CC: Felicia Akerstrom is a master of the ‘just-threw-this-together’ look. In this case, it’s actually replicable, too – many of us will have an oversized knit and a midi skirt somewhere in our wardrobe. The perfect spring twist on those chunky jumpers.

LOOK 3

LH: If I had one criticism of this look I’d say the trousers are just a little too sheer for me. However, Leonie is such a great example of how to experiment with colour, and I love the bright colour pops and matching bag and shoe combo.

CC: For me this look works less because of the colour, and more because of the proportions. That perfectly fitted body is offset by high-waisted trousers with the perfect crop, while a long coat elevates everything.

LOOK 4

LH: Giorgia Tordini can do no wrong, and while the skirt isn’t my favourite, she has nailed this look with a cardigan, proving that the smallest of styling details (unbuttoning and slipping it off the shoulders) can turn a classic piece into a style statement.

CC: Like Lu says, this reworking of the cardigan is genius. I also love the unexpected pop of lilac – pastels in moderation can really update black for spring.

LOOK 5

CC: We’re not exactly getting a ‘transitional’ period this year, but this look is one to bank for autumn. Long boots keep it wintery, while a white bag, sunnies and neutral layers make it feel seasonal.

LH: This is one of my favourite street style looks. The colour combination is perfect, super chic and easy to replicate. By layering the leggings with a half-tucked shirt and long coat, it immediately makes them feel polished and more wearable.

LOOK 6

CC: It’s no secret I love a suit, and metallic tailoring is about as cool as it gets. It’s the little details that make this feel fresh – the flat boots, the messy hair, and the oversized fit of the separates.

LH: Florals for spring? Not groundbreaking, but make them metallic and it’s instantly modern and cool. It’s rock n roll, but also romantic, and the white boots and oversized dark sunnies are the perfect addition.

LOOK 7

LH: This reminds me of a modern-day period drama look. The exposed seams exaggerate the structure and make it feel quite architectural. Vanessa also balances the pretty feminine floral print by styling with chunky gold chains and big earrings which toughen things up.

CC: This is a masterclass in making even your smartest pieces work for day-time. This structural gown is a true statement, but add some flat boots and an everyday handbag, and it works as a non-event look, too.
