7 Hot New Openings In Ibiza

Whether your flights are booked or you’ve got a last-minute trip in mind, there are plenty of new reasons to head to the White Isle this summer. From brand new restaurants to hotels so fresh that the paint’s just dried, here are seven of the coolest new launches for the Ibiza summer season…

7 Pines Resort Ibiza

So new that it’s not quite open yet, the ultra-modern 7 Pines Resort is now welcoming bookings for the summer season. This luxury resort is set to be an ideal place to unwind – the grounds will encompass Pure Seven, a  1,500sq m wellness centre inspired by the Mediterranean lifestyle, which will offer a range of treatments from massages to medical aethetics. There will be four restaurants and bars on site – we like the sound of the Pershing Yacht Terrace. But it’s the accommodation that’s really caught our attention: sprawling gardens surround this luxurious Ibizan-style village that offers 186 spacious one- and two-bedroom suites. Many come with private pools and cliff-top views of the sea.

Las Mimosas

Las Mimosas is an elegant new retreat that opened in San Antonio Bay this June. A deliberately quiet location, complete with pool and spa, the hotel aims to be a haven from the island’s livelier party towns. The boutique four-star spot offers 11 junior suites and six suites, each decorated in neutral tones, with natural fabrics and bleached wood to complete the Mediterranean-inspired look. The best bit? Each has a terrace with a pool or sea views. Also on site is an Italian restaurant, a solarium and a yoga terrace. For those after the best sunsets, Cafe Mambo is just ten minutes away.

Hostal La Torre

With just 17 bedrooms, this boutique hotel offers an intimate, family feel – perfect for anyone planning a getaway with the kids in tow. Translated as The Ibiza Tower, you won’t be surprised to learn that this hotel is located on a hill; just on the edge of San Antonio, it really is one of the best places to watch the sunset, as resident DJs play on the terrace. Bedrooms – which span double rooms to junior suites with a balcony – are decorated in a rustic, Mediterranean style. The hotel also comes with an all-day restaurant, hair salon, massage service and library, so you won’t need to lug your beach reads over on the plane. For the more adventurous, a range of watersports can be arranged.

Cala Gracioneta

Don't let its San Antonio location put you off – this secluded cove oozes Ibizan bliss and is one of the area's hidden gems. From the crystal clear waters to the rustic interiors and simple menu, there's no wonder some of Ibiza's original DJs head here for some time out. Start with a plate of padron peppers and a glass of rosé before moving on to sharing plates of local fish cooked on the open grill, and their epic paellas. You'll love it for it's warm, friendly atmosphere, chilled back tunes and Instagramability.

Jul’s Ibiza

As with most things on the White Isle, newcomer Jul’s Ibiza is much more than just a restaurant. Providing a place to eat, drink and dance, Jul’s is predominantly an indoor eatery, decked out in a modern style – think polished concrete floors, copper detailing and plush velvet furnishings. On the menu expect to find the likes of grilled prawns, kosho yuzu, warm almond and salicornia; followed by octopus, burned onions, quinoa and black olive mayo. An extensive terrace serves food by day and cocktails by night. Live music gets the party started from 8pm every night, and Jul’s even has its own souvenir shop – there’s not a tacky magnet in sight.

Chiringuito Blue

An all-day beachside restaurant and bar has just launched in tranquil Ibiza hotspot Santa Eularia. Located right the water, Chiringuito Blue offers beachside dining with sea views and an interesting food and drink menu focusing on local, sustainable produce: menus have been devised by MasterChef Israel judge Haim Cohen and include the likes of yellowtail sashimi with tomato seeds, lemon and coriander; and Andalusian-style crispy calamari. Located on a smoke-free beach, guests have access to large reclining sunbeds, scatters of cushions and a casual dining terrace. Parents will be pleased to know there’s a kids’ play area too.

Finca La Plaza

Billing itself as a secret garden at the centre of Ibiza, this hidden restaurant is a new addition to the island’s dining scene. Located outdoors, Finca La Plaza focuses on traditional Mediterranean ingredients, served in a contemporary way: think red prawn tartare with lemon and lavender scent; baby squid with roasted Iberian ham, parsley and garlic oil; and lobster risotto for two. The perfect date location, the restaurant's fairy lights make it one of the most romantic spots on the White Isle.
