The Best New Products According To Our Beauty Team

Between them, the SL beauty team test hundreds of products. The constant rotation means it’s rare they reach the dregs of anything – so when they do, you can be sure it’s something worth shouting about. From a new cream blush to a dry shampoo powder and a travel-friendly fragrance, here are the products they’ve used up to the very last drop.

Satin Slip Lipstick In Nightie, £21 | Vieve & Blush Balm Stick, £28 | Summer Fridays

Rebecca Hull, Senior Beauty Editor

“I’ve got two make-up empties this month that I intend on restocking. First up is the new Summer Fridays Blush Balm Stick in ‘Dusty Rose’. Creamy but with a velvety dry down that doesn’t budge, it’s my favourite blush launch of the year so far. It delivers the perfect amount of pigment, as well as a healthy, dewy glow that keeps skin looking bouncy and fresh. There are several shades to choose from but this one is my go-to. It’s so easy to apply and blend out with your fingers. My second empty is Vieve’s Satin Slip Lipstick. I rarely wear a nude lipstick, but this has earnt a firm place in my make-up bag. Flattering and peachy in tone, it has the kind of balmy texture I love, while the colour softly sculpts lips and gives them more volume.”

Replica When The Rain Stops Eau De Toilette, £55 | Maison Margiela

Sapna Rao, Junior Fashion & Beauty Writer

“This is one of my favourite fragrances of all time and I always feel a bit lost once it’s finished. I’ll be repurchasing this miniature 30ml size to take on holiday. It’s fresh and crisp – almost like cotton, but balanced with notes of bergamot, rose, pink pepper, moss and pine tree. The combination is unlike any other scent I’ve tried, and I am always impressed at how long it lingers on my skin. It always earns me compliments, too.”

Digital Shield™ Day Cream, £55 | Sarah Chapman

Georgia Day, SL Beauty Contributor

“I’ve just squeezed out the very last drop of the latest launch from Sarah Chapman – one of my favourite skincare brands. Digital Shield is an anti-pollution illuminating moisturiser that defends and repairs your skin against everything your day could conceivably throw at you, including UV rays, blue light and microscopic pollution particles. Aside from that, I am hooked on the texture (silky, smooth, velvety and luscious) and the instant energy and luminosity it imbues your skin with. I’ve already ordered my next bottle.”

Revitalising Cellular Hand Cream, £185 | Cellcosmet

Zoë Taylor, Make-Up Artist & SL Beauty Contributor

“I discovered this product on a job while eyeing up a manicurist’s kit. It works miracles – and no, I’m not exaggerating. I am hard on my hands, constantly drying them out with the alcohol I use to cleanse my brushes and kit. I was desperate to put moisture back in, and this did the job and then some. It worked immediately to hydrate and plump up the skin on my hands and around my nails. I love that it doesn’t sink in too fast either – when this happens with other creams, I don’t find them nourishing enough. Long-term use has helped the sunspots on my hands fade and crepiness is now tightened too. I’ve also seen my nails grow faster with regular use. It’s so much more than your average hand cream.”

Serene Scalp Oil Control Dry Shampoo Powder, £45 | Oribe

Rafeeka Khan, SL Beauty Contributor

“This is a lifesaver on those days when you don’t want to wash your hair. It leaves zero stickiness behind and refreshes hair quickly, absorbing oils on the scalp at speed. It does all this without coating the lengths of your hair in residual product either – unlike some dry shampoos. I love that it’s a powder – it’s more convenient than a spray as it allows me to be precise with my placement. I can’t believe I’ve got through this so quickly.”

Available at SpaceNK.com

Jet Lag Mask, £46 | Summer Fridays

Michaella Bolder, Celebrity Facialist & SL Beauty Contributor

“I get through endless tubes of this. I use it on my face, neck, chest and hands – particularly after a day of having the heat on my skin. Once I’ve done a deep cleanse, I’ll slather this on and I know it will feed my skin with essential moisture. It’s the one product that can really bring my dull, lacklustre complexion back to life. I love the buttery texture.”

Available at Revolve.com

The Cream Cleanser, £32 | Skin Rocks

Adeola Gboyega, Make-Up Artist & SL Beauty Contributor

“I can’t get enough of this cleanser. It comes with or without fragrance, but what stands out the most is how quickly it melts away dirt and make-up without ever aggravating the skin. It has a thin texture yet still manages to nourish and hydrate your skin. Post-cleanse, my complexion never feels dry, tight or stingy, just soft and smooth. This will definitely be a repeat buy for me.”
