Soho House Mexico City

Mexico

Soho House continues its global expansion with a new site in one of Latin America’s coolest cities. The group’s first opening in the region is set in a Baroque-inspired casa amid the boutiques, bars and restaurants of Colonia Juárez. The House will have numerous bars and spaces to relax – including a tequila bar – as well as restaurants headed up by Mexican chefs in the main casa and a pool house overlooking the outdoor pool. Rooms have the group’s signature interiors, with some French and American influences. The group will also open a property in Sao Paulo in the next few months.

Farasha Farmhouse

Morocco

Featuring some of the chicest interiors on this list, Farasha Farmhouse is the new project from husband-and-wife duo Rosena and Fred Charmoy of Moroccan luxury event planning group Boutique Souk. Eight miles east of the Medina in Marrakech, this countryside hotel has views of the Atlas and Jbilet mountains. Inside, the minimalist interiors mirror the surroundings – think neutral colours and rattan furniture. Outdoors, there’s a 50m pool lined with olive trees, where guests can relax with kombucha and juices.

AlmaLusa Alfama

This 25-room property will open in Lisbon’s historic Campo das Cebolas square with views of the Tagus River. A short walk from AlmaLusa’s original boutique hotel (AlmaLusa Baixa/Chiado), the hotel is set in a typical Pombaline Portuguese building that’s been given some smart, modern interiors. Guests can order brunch and small plates from café Delfina, and use the 24/7 concierge service to arrange experiences around the city.

Soneva Secret

Maldives

Soneva is one of the leading hotel brands in the Maldives, and its latest opening offers some of its signature on a grand scale. One of the most exclusive options on this list, Soneva Secret is the first resort in the Haa Dhaalu Atoll, offering total privacy. Thirty years in the making, the resort will have 14 over-water and island villas, including the Maldives’ only floating villa, each with its own ‘guardian’, assistant and private chef. Some have slides into the ocean while others have been built on strips of private beach.

The StandardX, Melbourne

Australia

The Standard is set to launch its new hospitality brand with an opening in Melbourne. An affordable choice for young professionals and tourists, StandardX is a little sibling for the hotel group, showcasing minimalist but chic design and an exciting cultural programme. Spread over eight floors, there are 125 rooms, a spacious lobby with lounge areas, and a hidden Mexican restaurant and bar on the roof, exclusive to hotel guests. Artwork from up-and-coming local artists completes the cool vibe.

Warren Street Hotel, NYC

US

Firmdale Hotels’ third New York property is set to open in Tribeca. With colourful interiors by Kit Kemp Design Studio, the hotel will be filled with original art, sculptures and objects. There will be 69 individually designed bedrooms, suites and residences, all featuring Firmdale’s signature oversized headboards in bold, patterned fabrics and floor-to-ceiling windows. Outside, guests can explore the cool neighbourhood with its cobblestone streets, warehouse-style buildings and art galleries.

The Lana, Dubai

UAE

Dorchester Collection’s first property in the Middle East will shortly open its doors in downtown Dubai. One of 2024’s biggest openings, the building will have views of the Burj Khalifa and overlook Marasi Marina. From doubles to multi-bed suites, rooms are spacious and elegant, but dining is the real focus: eight restaurants are headed up by Michelin-starred chefs like Martin Berasategui and Jean Imbert, while esteemed pastry chef Angelo Musa opens his first site in the hotel. We like the sound of the Veranda, a lush, tucked-away garden for cocktails and small plates.

The Hoxton

Vienna

The Hoxton continues its expansion with a hotel in Vienna’s Stadtpark. Ennismore Design Studio has restored the original features of a 1950s modernist building while adding the brand’s signature interiors. The property will have 196 rooms, a generous lobby with coffee bar, a restaurant and terrace, a rooftop bar and pool, and a basement speakeasy. It will also have an events auditorium – a first for the group that hopes it will become a new home for live entertainment in the city.

For a bucket-list trip, this luxury Madagascan resort is made for guests looking to explore the African nation’s natural beauty. Set on the small island of Sainte-Marie (with a population of just 30,000), the resort will launch with eight bungalows and one three-bedroom villa, all made from local materials and reclaimed wood. The property is surrounded by pristine white-sand beaches and is one of the best spots in the world to see the humpback whale migration, which takes place between June and October each year.

Borgo Tre

Lake Garda, Italy

Lake Garda is a no-brainer for a spring getaway. Taking over a renovated 18th-century farmhouse in the hills overlooking the lake, Borgo Tre is surrounded by cypress and olive trees, with the town of Torri del Benaco within walking distance. Here, it’s all about slow living and reconnecting to nature. Guests can relax at the spa, enjoy yoga retreats and book experiences like Vespa road trips and guided hikes. There are six suites with private gardens and terraces, some with lake views while others have free-standing baths and space for multiple guests.

Our Habitas Santa Teresa

Costa Rica

Set in the jungle in front of one of Central America’s best surf breaks, this remarkable property is on the southernmost tip of Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica. The eco-friendly hotel will have 45 rooms and 10 luxury tents, each made with local materials and tucked away behind towering palm trees. Guests can dine at the farm-to-table restaurant and take part in everything from sunset bonfires to horseback rides on the beach, meditation classes, mountain biking, paddleboarding, and trips to local waterfalls. There will also be a beachfront infinity pool, surf shack and bar. The same group is set to open Our Habitas Mazunte in Oaxaca, Mexico, next spring.

Casa Monti

Casa Monti is a sister property to newcomer La Fantaisie in Paris. In Rome’s Monti neighbourhood – known for its village feel – the boutique hotel is designed by Laura Gonzalez, the creative behind Cartier boutiques and hotels around the world. Casa Monti has 36 rooms with beautiful feminine prints, scalloped furniture and plush linens. It also has a restaurant, aperitivo bar, rooftop and spa overlooking the city.

Nay Palad Farm Ibiza

Spain

Ibiza has had a flurry of luxury openings in the last two years, but there are still a few new properties set to open in 2024. One is Nay Palad Farm in Sant Mateu d’Albarca in the rural north-west of the island. Designed for guests wanting to explore Ibiza’s quieter side, the countryside hotel will have its own herd of alpacas and a yoga yurt, as well as natural ponds and padel courts. Six bedrooms will be in the main finca building, with a separate guest house nearby, complete with its own pool.

Hôtel du Couvent

France

Nice will finally welcome a modern boutique hotel in the form of Hôtel du Couvent. Right in the Old Town, the hotel occupies a 17th-century convent that has been restored by Valéry Grégo, who’s behind Les Roches Rouges and Le Pigalle in Paris. Guests can explore 2.5 acres of terraced gardens, relax in Roman-inspired thermal baths, and enjoy dishes in the restaurant made from the convent’s own farm.

One&Only Kéa Island

Greece

One&Only’s first hotel in Greece will open on a 160-hectare beachfront site on the west side of Kéa island in the Cyclades. Easily reached via an hour-long ferry from Athens, the island has a private beach, which will be home to a chic beach club. Each villa has its own pool, terrace and courtyard, with almost 360º sea views. Guests can look forward to traditional Greek dishes at the restaurant and book activities from snorkelling trips to hiking and visits to nearby archaeological sites.

Six Senses La Sagesse

Grenada

One of the lesser explored Caribbean islands, Grenada offers tourists a slice of luxury with its palm-tree lines beaches. Six Senses will open a resort on the southern part of the island known for its spices and relaxed way of life. There will be 56 guestrooms, seven one-bedroom villas and five two-bedroom villas, all influenced by the region’s traditional architecture. As always with Six Senses, wellness is a key focus: the property has outdoor fitness trails and a jungle gym, and guests can try forest bathing, sensory foot reflexology, fire rituals and candlelight yoga. Food-wise, there will be a conservatory, bakery, gallery and beach dining room offering different cuisines.

Rosewood Amsterdam

Netherlands

Rosewood Amsterdam will be housed in the city’s former Palace of Justice, overlooking the Prince’s Canal – one of the city’s most beautiful waterways and a Unesco World Heritage Site. A great location from which to explore, the hotel will have 134 guestrooms and suites with elegant interiors. There will also be three restaurants and bars, an indoor swimming pool, a spa, and lobby with its own library. Rosewood will also open properties in Austria, Japan and Qatar next year.

The Twenty Two New York City

US

The Twenty Two is one of London’s hottest destinations right now, with everyone from Tom Cruise to Jeff Bezos spotted there since it opened. Next year, it will open a sister hotel and members club in New York. Details are under wraps, but we know there will be 77 rooms as well as a slick restaurant and bar with richly decorated interiors. Keep your eyes peeled for more info in the coming months.

Experimental Chalet Val d’Isère

France

For a stylish affordable getaway, Experimental properties are always a good idea. The group’s latest project is at an altitude of 1,850m in the centre of Val d’Isère, with access to 300km of pistes in Savoie. With interiors by designer Dorothée Meilichzon, its 110 rooms will be chic and modern, with considered pops of colour and beautiful mountain views. The hotel will also have two restaurants serving French classics, as well as a bar, swimming pool and spa.

Aman Nai Lert Bangkok

Thailand

An Aman opening is always big news. Its new place in Bangkok will be the ultra-luxury group’s first ‘urban oasis’: guests can enjoy a central location while surrounded by nature in scenic Nai Lert Park. The 36-storey is designed around a central atrium – look for a rooftop infinity pool as well as 52 suites and 50 high-tech residences. Aman will also open a property in Tokyo in March.

Plus, the openings in the UK to know…

Maybourne – the group behind Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley – will open its fourth London hotel next year. The Emory in Knightsbridge has been designed by the late Richard Rogers and Ivan Harbour of architectural firm RSHP, with 60 richly decorated suites set over nine floors, as well as a penthouse. There will also be a subterranean wellness space with a 22m pool, while chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten will bring his Manhattan restaurant ABC to the capital. Other London openings to know include Mandarin Oriental Mayfair (set to open early next year) which will host Akira Back’s first UK restaurant, as well as Six Senses London. Opening in Bayswater, there will be 110 rooms and suites plus a state-of-the-art spa with a 20m indoor swimming pool, a bar and a relaxation room with vaulted ceilings. 

Elsewhere, there are lots of exciting projects in Manchester, including a Soho House in the St John’s area. The site will have a signature outdoor rooftop pool and numerous drinking and dining spaces. Treehouse Hotel will also open in the city. Continuing the brand’s sustainability efforts, the hotel will have 224 rooms with living green walls, as a well as a rooftop apiary producing the hotel's own honey. Down in Brighton, GuestHouse will open a hotel in the summer, with 32 rooms, an outdoor terrace bar, a Pearly Cow restaurant and a wellness space, while The Hoxton will open in Edinburgh with Georgian features and interiors by Ennismore Design Studio.
