The Luxe List: June

From the collaborations, drinks and beauty products the SL team are loving, to our lifestyle desk’s favourite new restaurant and the fashion team’s most covetable items, our monthly Luxe List rounds up the coolest things to do, see and buy right now…

COLLECTION: Refine

The best small brands are those that pick one item and do it really, really well – which gives us faith that new slip label Refine is destined for success. The tiny capsule collection features perfectly cut satin midis and camisoles in a variety of shades – we’re calling it now, this is one to watch.

PRINTS: Wonderland x Desenio

Desenio Studio Collections is a selection of photo art produced by Desenio’s creative team. Its newest collection is titled Wonderland. The photo shoot took place at one of Europe’s most talked-about design hotels, Paradiso. The colourful and Ibizan hotel mixes Miami’s art-deco vibe with a splash of the 70s. Whether you’re into architecture or fashion, the candy hues and scalloped edges create a playful atmosphere and will bring your walls to life.

STATIONERY: Matilda Goad x Papier

Homeware designer Matilda Goad has looked back at her favourite summer memories – from the English coast to continental cafés – for her debut Papier collection. Celebrated for her rainbow cutlery and sought-after scalloped lampshades, Matilda has quickly become a favourite of the style conscious. This summer, she’s turned her hand to personalised stationery. Lose yourself in bold, bright notebooks during note-taking and sketching sessions in the sun or pick up a batch of playful notecards for holiday postcards or shell-adorned wedding invitations.

ONLINE SHOP: Open For Vintage

Open for Vintage is the resale site that cuts out the aggro – unlike other vintage online destinations, it removes the middle man, allowing you to shop directly from them. That means no haggling or bargaining, just unrestricted access to the coolest pre-loved pieces from Chanel, Hermes, Celine and more. Do your bit for sustainability and check them out.

BEAUTY: Make

This niche make-up range has finally made its way over the pond. Instagram-friendly and chic, the range is paraben- and cruelty-free, with nourishing vitamins and oils running through each product for extra hydration. With a mixture of everything from glossy balms to creamy blushers, each product is incredibly wearable and suits-all, and their multi-function formulas double-up when time is at a premium.

DRINK: Fisher’s Gin

Newcomer Fisher’s Gin combines rare old English herbs and botanicals found along the Suffolk coast. The seaside distillery reflects a passion for nature and research, capturing some of the wild and forgotten flavours of the English coastline. Each one of its selected wild botanicals has been sustainably sourced and foraged by head botanist James and is native only to a small collection of locations, including Suffolk. We like to add it to a martini for a clean-tasting sip.

BRAND: Attico

Even if the name Attico isn’t already on your radar, chances are you’ll recognize the ladies behind the brand. Founded by Italian influencers Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, the label has long been a cult hit with the style crowd thanks to its experimental use of colour, feathers and embellishment, and the ability to set a trend. (Remember those ubiquitous ankle cuffs from last year? You have these ladies to thank.) Their latest collection features all the tropes of cool girly partywear – think pink marabou handbags, floral metallic mini dresses and statement gold jewellery.

SPEAKEASY: Dear Alice

Hidden in the basement of members’ club Library, new pop-up Dear Alice is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. After booking, guests will be requested to bring a book, given a mission password and will have to hunt for Alice in the bar. If you’re successful, prizes include theatre tickets, a weekend hotel stay, a free year’s membership or a meal for two at St Luke’s Table. We’re intrigued by its two vegan cocktails: ‘The Lemon Drop’, a shake of vodka, Triple Sec and freshly squeezed lemon juice; and ‘Gin & Chronic’, a twist on a traditional G&T with the addition of CBD oil.

RESTAURANT: Circolo

Following the successful launch Gloria in Shoreditch, Big Mamma Group is getting ready to open a second, larger spot at the end of the month. A heavily planted Italian paradise, Circolo will bring Sicilian coast sunshine to Fitzrovia. Inside, big tables will seat up to 12, plus there’ll be a huge outdoor terrace – just in time for summer. When it comes to food, expect metre-long pizzas loaded with San Marzano tomato and creamy burrata from Puglia; OTT bowls of pasta; and centrepieces from the Sicilian grill. We can’t wait for al fresco limoncellos.
