Product Spotlight: Sculpted By Aimee HydraTint

If you love a fresh, barely-there base, you need Sculpted By Aimee’s HydraTint on your radar. Delivering a flattering veil of colour, the formula more than lives up to the hype. Here’s why this bestselling skin enhancer deserves a place in your make-up bag…

Created in partnership with SCULPTED BY AIMEE

THE HYPE

Looking fresh-faced without actually going bare faced is the look most of us are aiming for on a daily basis. A compliment on your make-up is nice, but someone telling you your skin looks great – well, that hits different.

One Sculpted By Aimee HydraTint has been sold every minute* – testimony to how the your-skin-but-better formula has won over make-up fans. The sheer wash of colour instantly makes your complexion look more even, creating the illusion of a good night’s sleep.

Combining quality ingredients with a hint of coverage, it’s the perfect choice when you want a base that blurs imperfections, but still feels breathable. Think of it as a hybrid formula, designed to give you the best of both worlds.

THE BRAND

It’s hard to believe HydraTint only launched last year, considering it’s already become a beauty editor favourite. But then we’d expect nothing less from a brand with a make-up artist at its helm, and one who’s used to working on real faces. Having cut her teeth working on beauty counters, Aimee Connolly launched her namesake label at just 23 and has since established herself as one of Ireland’s most respected beauty authorities.

Intent on demystifying the art of good make-up, the brand’s goal is simple: hardworking multitaskers, designed to streamline your routine. Want to look like the best version of yourself with minimal effort? Try Sculpted By Aimee

THE HEROES

The vegan and cruelty-free product line-up feels highly curated – every piece earns its place. Any artist worth their salt will tell you that the key to great make-up lies in the prep, and that’s reflected in the brand’s skin-friendly formulas.

One of our unexpected heroes is CloudCream – sometimes moisturisers created by make-up brands don’t hit the mark, but this is a winner. Rich in ceramides, it makes your skin look plump and feel pillowy soft.

Next up in your routine should be Beauty Base, and there are heaps of variations to choose from depending on your skin type. We love the Protect version with in-built SPF50+, but there are others that contain light-reflective pigments if you’re seeking more glow.

After applying HydraTint, follow up with the Brighten Up Concealer. Creamy and easy to blend, it instantly makes you look more awake.

Bare Basics, our constant travel companion, covers all bases if you’re on the go and – better yet – it won’t take up any of your liquid allowance.

To top it off, there’s a slick of MyMascara. The curved wand creates an exceptional level of lift and the brown shade is really flattering if you’re after a more understated lash.

THE FORMULA

Tints are renowned for breathing life back into the face, creating a fresher, more dewy effect than the average foundation. HydraTint does exactly that, restoring bounce and vitality, while not actually verging into full-on glow territory. The finish – somewhere between natural and matte – feels well suited to everyday wear.

Brimming with skin benefits, this is a godsend for dehydrated types. Powered by hyaluronic acid and ceramides, the formula melts seamlessly into the skin, adding a lasting layer of hydration.

With over 200,000 perfect shade matches under its belt, the brand has made it super easy to find your exact colour – as the SL team found recently when Aimee swung by the office for some in-person shade matching. The 20 shades are categorised by undertone, but if you’re after some help on which colour will suit you best, head to Sculpted By Aimee’s Carnaby flagship – the staff are extremely knowledgeable, so no need for guesswork.

THE BEST WAY TO USE IT

First, allow your skincare to absorb fully. Squeeze a small amount onto the back of your hand and smooth the serum over your face with your fingers, as you would with moisturiser. Use the warmth of your fingers to blend it into your skin for a fresh, natural-looking effect, or you can use a brush to guarantee a streak-free finish. Build it up in the areas where the tone is more uneven, following up with the Brighten Up Concealer – a soft-focus liquid format that works to banish darkness where necessary.

THE REVIEWS

“HydraTint is the perfect product for someone looking for a ‘skin that looks like skin’ base. I love it for everyday wear, paired with the Brighten Up Concealer to even out my skin tone. It’s dewy without being oily or sticky on the skin. 10/10 from me.”

“This is an amazing product. It’s so lightweight and applies beautifully, giving a light, natural-looking finish to the skin. It covers imperfections and large pores and makes my skin feel soft and hydrated. There’s a good selection of shades too.”

“This is a gorgeous lightweight product that just gives your skin that extra bit of colour and an airbrushed look. It looks seamless, and you’re not missing out on any of your skincare steps.”

“The sensation of this product on your skin is like no other. It’s silky and soft and honestly does feel like skincare, not make-up. However, you get fresh, minimal coverage with the most hydrated and dewy finish. This is my summer go-to.”
