The Summer Make-Up Range Everyone’s Talking About

Colourful make-up that makes a bold statement but is flattering too, is often hard to come by, but that’s exactly what’s promised by Illamasqua’s latest Expressionist Collection. With blendable formulas and beautiful pigments, this is a range to have on your radar. Here’s how to get the most out of each product…
CREATED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ILLAMASQUA

1. Powerful Pigment Shadows

Although this palette is punchy and bold, it’s sophisticated enough to wear for daytime. Featuring 12 pretty (and wearable) shades, you can choose between satin and shimmer finishes, or mix and blend the two depending on your look. Each hue has been designed to express individuality and encourage you to try a colour alternative to a classic, black, smokey eye.

How It’s Used: From fiery oranges and pinks to vibrant shades of cerulean blue, wear these all over your lids for a statement eye. Or, if you want to err on the side of caution, use a little dabbed on both the inner and outer corners of your eyes for a subtle touch of colour.

Who It’s For: Anyone who is looking to create some high-impact eye looks, or for those who are willing to experiment with colour.

2. Semi-Matte Lipsticks

Housed in Illamasqua’s signature black case, these six new shades offer up an alternative to classic, neutral lipsticks. From punchy oranges to intense reds and fuchsias, these colours may at first look daunting but their sheer finishes mean they’re incredibly wearable and brighten up all skin tones. In particular we're fans of  ‘Farenheit’ against darker skin tones and ‘Glow’ for paler complexions.

How It’s Used: Use your finger and push the colour into your lips for a more muted and controlled finish or for an intense shot of colour apply directly from bullet to lip.

Who It’s For: Anyone that’s bored of wearing typical nudes or soft peaches – all the shades compliment a tan beautifully.

3. Clever Contouring Sticks

Forget the overly chiselled, stripy look of contouring’s past – these new water-based sticks can be used to create a delicate, seamless shadow under cheekbones and along the jawline for subtle definition that is sheeny and glossy. Available in three shades, all skin tones are catered for, but you can also double them up if you want a strong definition for an evening out.

How It’s Used: Always try and apply your cream sticks onto a brush first before working it into the skin in gentle, buffing motions. Once the product is on the brush, wipe a little off on the back of your hand – both these techniques just ensure you don’t deposit too much all at once and get an even, refined blend.

Who It’s For: Anyone that wants to give contouring a go but is equally a little cautious. The water-based formula makes them really easy to blend so even novices can nail the ‘sculpting’ look with ease.
