SheerLuxe Success Stories: Lisa Potter-Dixon
After graduating with a degree in English literature and theatre, Potter-Dixon decided to pursue her life-long love of make-up. Growing up in awe of the looks her mother, a former model, showcased – and with four younger sisters to practice on – she taught herself the basic skills, and always knew she’d work with cosmetics in some shape or form.
It was after taking a job managing the Benefit Cosmetics boutique in Covent Garden back in 2007 that she began to sow the seeds of her professional success. At the time, the brand hadn’t been in the UK for long, and were still growing their presence – so Potter-Dixon took it upon herself to meet with beauty editors, offering to do their make-up for events. Before long, she was being asked to work on editorial shoots.
Today, she holds the title of Head Make-Up Artist for the brand, and has amassed a strong social media following thanks to her ability to take a catwalk trend and apply it to real women; creating everyday looks that enhance their natural beauty, not hide it.
