The New Vibrant Marylebone Hotel To Know

London’s hotel scene is constantly evolving, but The BoTree in Marylebone is the new name to know. Whether it's a laid-back evening of cocktails with friends or an overnight stay in the heart of the West End, the luxury hotel promises a unique and memorable experience. Here’s everything you need to know…

Created in partnership with The BoTree

the LOCATION

An exciting new addition to London’s hotel offering, The BoTree opened its doors in September and has already established itself as the latest hotspot in the West End. The first opening from luxury group Place III Hotels, it’s in a great location, just a few minutes from Bond Street Station and within walking distance of Mayfair and Soho – home to some of London’s best independent cafés, bookshops and boutiques. Guests can explore Marylebone’s village-like neighbourhood with its Georgian and Victorian architecture and world-class dining, or walk to Mayfair with its international galleries and flagship designer stores – perfect for Christmas shopping or exploring London’s famous sites.

the HOTEL

The impressive design caters to various guests – those who want dinner and drinks after meetings in town, as well as guests staying in one of its luxury rooms. The building itself blends in with Marylebone’s traditional architecture, while adding new playful elements. The ground floor has been designed by Amsterdam architects Concrete who have injected fun and personality into each corner – think coloured glass walls, colourful and contemporary interiors, and lush indoor plants. Sustainability is a key focus, too, and much of the hotel has been designed with eco-friendly and natural materials. It has already been given an ‘Excellent’ rating by BREEAM, the world’s leading environmental assessment method and rating system. Other eco-friendly touches include vegan leather furnishings, bamboo loo paper, eco linens in room, and artwork made from recycled materials, all in keeping with the hotel’s ethos of ‘Conscious Luxury’.

the ROOMS

The hotel has 199 rooms including 30 suites, all offering different views of London. Superior Rooms are cosy and comfy, with walk-in rainfall showers and separate seating areas, while Deluxe Rooms are spacious with sliding doors concealing a separate dressing and vanity area. You can also stay in various luxury suites, including Soho Suites (with views over Henrietta Place and Welbeck Street) which have spacious separate living areas and free-standing baths. For the ultimate treat, the largest and most luxury The BoTree Suite has spectacular views across central London. Featuring its own guest entrance and a balcony, the space can be combined with the adjoining suites to create a large wing for a private stay. All rooms and suites have contemporary décor with considered choices of colour, natural fabrics and eclectic textures created exclusively for the hotel.

Plus, as you’d expect, each one has air conditioning and underfloor heating, as well as thoughtful extras like Jasper Conran Wedgwood tea sets, eucalyptus Tencel bedding, and vegan and eco-friendly Jo Loves toiletries. Upon arrival guests will be welcomed by a host (there's a dedicated person on each floor) who can help with any requests at any time of day. They'll help you check into your room or suite, answer any questions you might have, and even help unpack or pack your luggage.

the FOOD & DRINK

One of The BoTree's main draws is its food and drink offering, all overseen by prestigious Tao Group Hospitality (the same group behind Hakkasan and Yauatcha). Its signature restaurant LAVO serves elegant Italian dishes in a sophisticated but relaxed dining room. LAVO has already made a name for itself in cities such as NYC and LA, so its London debut is an exciting addition to the hotel. Here, diners can tuck into fresh pasta, as well as pizzas, seafood dishes and more. Menu highlights include tagliatelle al limone infused with marjoram, sweet butter and Kaluga caviar; wholegrain flour pizzas; a huge wagyu meatball topped with whipped ricotta; salt-baked sea bass; and an indulgent 20-layer chocolate cake. Pair dishes with cocktails like the ‘Lavo Negroni’ or choose a bottle from the extensive wine list. Hotel guests can also order in-room dining – think breakfast in bed and late-night snacks.

Elsewhere, The BoTree Bar is the perfect spot for drinks with the girls or pre-dinner cocktails. Illuminated by a beautiful ceiling installation, guests can sit at the teal-marble bar which curves across the space and overlooks golden walls filled with bottles. Order cocktails like the ‘Jasmine Cha Cha’ made with Belvedere vodka, Grand Marnier, grapes, jasmine and lime; or the ‘Bees by The BoTree’ with Seven Tails XO, pomelo, honey, saffron, lemon and champagne. You’ll also find a large selection of wines and spirits – including a great range of tequilas and mezcals – as well as bar snacks including oysters or truffled cheese on sourdough.

the EXPERIENCE

The BoTree has only been open for a couple of months but has already established itself as a Marylebone hotspot, partly thanks to the friendly staff who have a wealth of five-star experience in hospitality from some of the capital’s best hotels. Guests can expect a personalised service, and welcoming hosts are on hand to help with any requests, from restaurant bookings to in-room dining, and recommending must-see spots in the surrounding neighbourhoods. You can also use The BoTree App – a personal guide to the hotel and its amenities with secrets and inside info on the neighbourhood, all at the touch of a button.
