Brand To Know: Arkitaip
The Story
Founded in 2018 by Lea Wieser and her mother, Michaela, Arkitaip combines Michaela’s handcrafting skills with Lea’s passion to create a brand with a positive environmental impact. The duo’s aim was to provide women with long-lasting and responsibly-crafted wardrobe staples, all of which are timeless enough to pass down from generation to generation.
The Eco Credentials
The majority of Arkitaip’s pieces are made from linen because of its low environmental impact and durability. Plus, all packaging is fully compostable, while the pieces are made at a family-run production facility in Portugal.
The Collections
Whether it’s one of their knot front tops or airy dresses, Ariktaip’s pieces are designed to stand the test of time. They’re also designed to be worn in various settings – at home, to the beach or on a night out – and usually take a seasonless approach. You’ll never see their pieces on sale either – instead, the brand promises to keep bringing back its best-selling pieces season after season.
The Price Point
Sustainable fashion often demands a hefty price tag, but Arkitaip pieces don’t break the bank. Expect to pay around the £250 mark for a statement dress, and £60 for one of their knotted bandeau tops.
What’s Next
While they don’t yet have a permanent bricks-and-mortar store, the brand periodically pops up in different venues across Europe, with the next one planned for 14th September at The Mayet Collective on South Molton Street.
