THE SUMMER KNITS:

The Knotty Ones

This knitwear brand was founded by three best friends with a common goal to create delicate knitwear that would benefit the under-privileged in their female community of Lithuania. The idea of knitwear came from the idea of ‘close-knit’ sisterhood, hence why the brand supports independent female artisans and factories within rural Lithuania. From chunky colourful shorts to fine knit maxi dresses, everything is created using natural, 100% biodegradable yarns –demonstrating the brand’s commitment to an ethical business.

THE UNDERWEAR:

Understatement

On a mission to disrupt the underwear industry, Understatement designs underwear that combines comfort and style with sustainability by ditching underwire, padding and tags. As a Swedish brand, the company only uses European manufacturers so that they can visit factories to ensure the highest quality standards and safest working conditions. In 2023, the brand introduced the ‘make a statement’ programme, which supports female entrepreneurs by providing office spaces and coaching sessions. Alongside social responsibilities such as these, the brand uses biodegradable materials where possible and uses recycled ocean waste and fabric scraps to create its designs.
