“I was so excited to visit Edinburgh for the first time, so of course, a lot of thought went into my packing. Even though I was only there for 24 hours, I took enough options for a week. The main event was a night with Monica Vinader, for which I wore a black velvet maxi dress from H&M. With extra-large shoulder pads and double-breasted buttons, it has just the right amount of drama for the festive season. I teamed it with equally OTT black diamanté mules from Mango.

“I never travel without my gym kit, and one of my favourite sets is from lululemon. The teal green leggings and matching top were super comfortable for our walk up to Arthur’s Seat. Staying warm was key, so I also wore my oversized red fur coat from Topshop. It was then time for me to head back to London on the train. I changed into my brown barrel-leg trousers from John Lewis, a red cashmere jumper from J.Crew and burgundy square-toe boots from Zara.”

“When packing for Edinburgh, I wanted practical yet stylish pieces that could handle the unpredictable Scottish weather. Knitwear formed the foundation of my packing list. A Fair Isle knit was essential – it’s cosy, classic and adds a touch of heritage charm that felt spot on. This Tove cashmere jumper was both chic and warm, making it ideal for dressing up in the evening. I also packed this chunky cashmere knit from Anine Bing, which is a winter staple of mine – perfect for a sunrise walk and staying warm on the long train ride home. A knitted hood was another must; it’s the perfect combination of hat, scarf and umbrella (sort of). And, of course, I couldn’t resist bringing this Luella check scarf from the AW08 collection – it felt like it was made for this trip.

“For our walk to Arthur’s Seat, lululemon leggings were the perfect base layer, which I paired with this long-sleeved top from COS. Elsewhere, dark denim was my go-to – it’s a wardrobe staple that takes me from day to night. For jewellery, I kept it simple with chunky hoops from Monica Vinader and a couple of delicate rings for layering in the evening. Beauty-wise, it was all about hydration and a glow on the go. The Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mist stayed in my bag and was essential for midday touch-ups, as was the Laneige lip balm.”

"My priority for Scotland was warmth. I love dressing for evening at this time of year as you can wrap up, so I brought several uniform knits, black trousers and jeans, which I jazzed up with a mega old Topshop scarf (similar linked!) and jewellery too. My men's Nanuskha coat has been a hero all season as it goes with everything, and I reverted to five-year-old Stuart Weizman boots to stomp the city in comfort. The best thing I did was pack multiple bag options – I threw in a little black Prada bag and a brown top handle style last minute, and both were useful for making a classic outfit more interesting. I'm particularly pleased with my luggage game – a Rimowa carry-on and Celine hold-all, which have proven to be an undefeatable combo, whatever the trip.

"I also wanted to ensure I had all my beauty essentials on board. This included Refy's lip blur in ‘Berry’ – a one-swipe transition from a day to an evening look. I also needed depuffing 111Skin masks – essential after late nights and early mornings – and Weleda Skin Food, a nourishing moisturiser I always bring to cold climates."

“A return trip to Scotland the week after our takeover sadly meant I missed the SheerLuxe Christmas party. Luckily, our Monica Vinader event with readers, Edinburgh influencers and Gleneagles Townhouse members on night one gave me the excuse I needed to break out the Batsheva dress I’d been saving. I’ve made three pairs of the Simone Rocha X Crocs collab my entire personality in 2024, and the chunky heel version copped a lot of compliments. I wore a second flat, fluffy pair for the rest of the trip. Sherri and I walked over 30,000 steps as part of our restaurant and bar crawl and these saw me through without a blister in sight.

“For the rest of the trip, my new Ganni Barbour and multicoloured Hades wool scarf helped me deal with the crisp weather in style (I was even papped by Barbour in the street) – and it was really nice to rep a couple of Scottish brands. I also packed a bottle of Paridisi by Edinburgh-based fragrance brand Jorum Studio, which has a gorgeous store in Stockbridge. I spent most of the trip in a brown cashmere jumper – emblazoned with ‘Nae bother’ – which is part of a new collection of knitwear, a collab between The Fife Arms and Jane Carr. This was all packed into a Carl Friedrik trunk, which fitted everything from my walking boots to all the candles and coffee I bought in Stockbridge with ease.”

“My priority was to pack practical clothes to keep me warm during the chilly days. One of my favourite buys this year has been my chocolate brown H&M wool and cashmere blend rollneck, which is super soft and layers perfectly over t-shirts and white shirts. I wore this during the day with my wide-leg COS jeans (another comfortable choice thanks to their drawstring waist), sneakers and everyday gold jewellery. I also brought some wool mittens from ARKET and a cosy knitted balaclava from John Lewis – the perfect cold-weather duo. For the first evening event, I wore a black plissé set from Zara, with Abercrombie slingbacks and an Alexander Wang-inspired diamante bag I found on Vinted.

“I made sure to pack lightly, so all my make-up was stored in my Anya Hindmarch cosmetics pouch, which has a separate section for brushes. To achieve a fresh, glow-y look for day and night, I started with a light layer of Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, followed by the By Terry Hyaluronic Serum Concealer, which sinks into the skin beautifully and doesn’t crease. My two favourite blushers currently include M.A.C’s powder in shade 'Coppertone' ( a very flattering shade for warm skin tones for that sun-kissed look) and the Rare Beauty Liquid Blush – a little goes a long way. I also packed a bottle of Sam McKnight’s Styling Mist to hold my slicked-back bun in place and took home a bottle of Voyeur Verde by Maya Njie, a small fragrance brand I discovered at the lovely Edinburgh boutique, Treen.”
