UNIQLO’s Latest Collab With Clare Waight Keller Has Arrived
What To Know
British designer Clare Waight Keller has teamed up with high-street brand UNIQLO for a new autumn/winter capsule collection. The former creative director of fashion houses Chloé and Givenchy – and the designer of Meghan Markle's Givenchy Couture wedding dress – Keller brings an effortless sophistication to affordable, daily essentials.
The collection, called UNIQLO : C is designed to transition from city to country and beyond, and includes all the essentials from the key coat and trench to layering knits and tailored separates. Timeless pieces – like quilted jackets – are reimagined in cool, oversized and fluid silhouettes, trousers are cut with a boyish attitude, while skirts and dresses are floaty and delicate. Everything also comes in a chic and versatile colour palette.
“The way I typically work on a collection is to look at a classic palette, which captures all the beautiful neutral tones you’ll have in your wardrobe forever,” Clare says. These neutrals are also mixed with caramel and warmer tones, that capture the essence of autumn.
The C stands for multiple layers of things. It’s connected to the collection as well as representing all the elements it considers – casual, chic, capsule, connectivity, creativity… to name a few. And also, it stands for Clare. “The collection is about bringing casual chic to an everyday, essential wardrobe. For me, that captures a modern, effortless sense of style, something I’ve done for years,” she says.
