Anna Mason On Her Favourite Pieces & Wish List Items

A fan of prints, well-cut tailoring and beautiful interiors, London-based fashion designer Anna Mason is known for her feminine take on personal style. From standouts in her own collection to the pieces high on her new-season wish list, here are all the things she’s loving right now…

1 The Power Piece

The Sharp jacket from my own collection is such a power player in my wardrobe. It works in the city or in the country, either as part of casual looks or it can be dressed up. We carefully developed the shoulder pad to enhance the silhouette.

2 The Skirt

I’m into the idea of a statement skirt and I'm most excited about this black leather one. It’s a gentle A-line shape and looks so good with boots or platform shoes.

3 The Shoes

In reality, I’m a flats person, even though I prefer the look of heels. Generally, the compromise is a great boot and, this season, Chloe’s Edith boots are top of my wish list. I’m also looking for a high-top trainer and keep coming back to this Adidas pair. They’ll look great with slim-cut or cuffed trousers.

4 The Bag

I was given a Chanel 2.55 for my birthday and use it all the time, so the cost per wear is turning out to be pretty good. If I’m going to a black-tie event, I love the whimsical quality of this Lulu Guinness lips bag

5 The Party Piece

I’m looking forward to injecting some colour into my autumn/winter wardrobe with this fuchsia pink suit. It’s such a statement.

6 The Jewellery

A charm pendant from Goossens has been on my wish list for some time. The brand has an amazing story – it made jewellery and furniture for Coco Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent. I have my eye on the Talisman Waterlily necklace

7 The Beauty Essential

A recent discovery, the Ambient Light Powder from Hourglass is brilliant at giving my complexion a little more warmth and light. It’s amazing how it does this without altering the colour of your base make-up.

8 The Beauty Tool

I use this gua sha every day on my face, jawline and neck. It encourages better circulation and I’m hoping it pays off as the years go by.

9 The Skincare Hero

Obagi’s tinted sunscreen is another of my beauty heroes. I discovered it after doing the whole Obagi skin programme in an attempt to minimise my sun damage. I now use it every day.

10 The Scent

My all-time favourite fragrance is Carnal Flower by Frederic Malle. It combines tuberose and eucalyptus – feminine, floral, warm and fresh. I have to give myself regular breaks though, as I tend to go anosmic to it.

11 The Interiors Buy

A cosy and comfortable sofa that will fit into our small sitting room is something I’m thinking about. In a dream world, it would be the Soane Tuileries sofa

12 The Work Of Art

I love Giorgio Morandi’s work. I discovered his gentle use of colour and the almost abstract quality of his compositions when I was at art school.

13 The Book

I’m reading Double Blind by Edward St Aubyn. I’ve only just started it, but it follows the lives of two female friends, and the characters that they come across in their jet-setting world. It’s quite fast paced, which I like.

14 The Techy Update

I’m useless with technology, but a new iPhone with a better camera would come in very handy right now…

15 The Hostess Gift

I would take a candle from my collaboration with Rachel Vosper. She developed the scent for my shop. Or, you can’t go wrong with a Dyptique candle.

16 The Extra Tablescaping Touch

The Florence napkins from Maison Margaux are such a standout. I love the delicate, pretty pink hue.

17 The Christmas Gift

Christmas with my family is so special, but I’m also dreaming of a holiday somewhere hot this year. My dream destination would be the Maldives or Mauritius.
