The Failsafe

The Marie Dress, £285 | Réalisation

This is one of those really unexpected love affairs; not usually my type at all – I stick to black, white and neutrals mostly – but the minute I put this on, I was obsessed. It fits perfectly and effortlessly. With a figure-hugging but comfortable feel. It’s feminine look without being too “girly” too. The fabric is super light and breezy while the colour promises to make a statement. It’s the perfect thing for long summer evenings – even better if it’s a wedding or a special occasion.

The Floral Number

Pumpkin Corintia Flower Dress, £240 (was £345) | Sophie & Lucie

While, like I said, colour and prints aren’t my first choice, the summer months make me want to be a little braver. I think the reason I love this piece so much for long summer nights or weddings is that it just nails that extra special feel. somehow. I love how the neckties can be added or taken off – elegantly draping across the decolletage. The fabric’s golden tones of the silky feel make the overall vibe quite soft and subtle while still making an impact – ideal.

The Black Mini

Sawyer Linen Dress, £228 | Reformation

An all-rounder – you really can’t go wrong with a LBD. Linen makes this the perfect option for hot summer evenings, with the mini length adding a casual, playful feel. The off-shoulder bardot-style is seriously flattering too, so definitely add a necklace for a beautiful and effortless touch. There's so many ways to style it whether you go for flats, strappy heels or even a platform. I love adding statement gold earrings and some strong sunglasses.

The Halter-Neck

Hollywood Mini Dress, £702.05 | Orseund Iris

I remember having so many halter pieces as a child and it remains in style even now. It’s all in the details with this one from the open back of this dress to the long neckties that wrap elegantly around the neck. It’s also totally adjustable and customisable meaning there are multiple ways of wearing it. I typically opt for an embellished pointed slingback and gold jewellery.

The Strapless Midi

Hyland Strapless Midi Dress, $179.99 | Dissh

A drop waist is so flattering and this year I’ve found some amazing pieces with this retro detail. So simplistic and chic, a strapless style is a classic. Paired with the big skirt, it feels current and gives such an elegant shape to any figure. The fabric is thick, so the structure holds beautifully making it perfect for warm evenings.

The Vintage Piece

Alia Dress, $449 | Nana Jacqueline

There’s something so classy about this one. It’s mini length makes it fun but the bold tuxedo style cut really makes a strong statement. Large and slightly puffed sleeves can sometimes feel too twee on – but here they really soften the piece. It comes in a variety of colours but this one's perfect for a formal event or a night out with friends. Similarly, style it for anything bridal from the hen party to the rehearsal dinner.

The Long Black Dress

Margot Dress, £170 | Arcina Ori

This is a dress that can change the way I feel – it boosts my confidence. I used to be too intimidated to wear something this fitted or sheer but the moment I put it on it felt incredible. The first time I wore it was to Couture Fashion Week – everyone thought it was vintage thanks to its subtle Dolce & Gabbana / Monica Bellucci era vibe. Layer with nude underwear, shapewear or black lingerie plus statement jewellery and sleek hair.

The Ruffled Midi

Sculpted Tube Dress, £440 | House Of Dagmar

This is one of my favourite finds of the year. The perfect bridal look, either for a civil ceremony, rehearsal dinner or hen party, it's also a great summer dress and just a little bit different to the other white linen dresses out there. I love how the femininity is juxtaposed by the strong, structured top half.
