Q: I’m on the hunt for a small raffia or jute handbag for a beach holiday. I’m only taking hand luggage, so it needs to match multiple things and work for day or night.

I would stick to a natural-coloured bag, as this will go with anything. Take a look at Sensi Studio – it has simple but really nice shapes. Another small brand I love is Poolside; this bucket bag with its embellished strap is different. Other brands I recommend include Mar Y Sol, Hat Attack and Nannacay. On the high street, I’ve spotted this Pull & Bear tote for a great price.

Q: Black-tie event dresses that ideally aren't too expensive – any ideas?

This one from Zara is so chic. I love the back. Polka dots are everywhere this season, especially all over dresses, so I would try this one from Mango. I also just spotted this by the ASOS Edition label – I would take inspiration from the styling and add a blazer to make it cool.

Q: This might be more unusual, but I’m looking for a statement gold brooch…

By Malene Birger would be my go-to – it has a few chic options, and I especially like the Ouna. I would recommend considering vintage too, so take a look on Susan Caplan and sites like Vestiaire – there are so many great vintage Dior pieces on there. Jigsaw also has this molten style that I love. When it comes to small brands, I love this one from The YSSO, and Agmes  has great choice.

Q: I’m looking for outfits to take to Mykonos this month. Just so you know, I don’t love getting my arms out…

I love a long-sleeved crochet dress – and this one, with its embellished detail from Cin Cin, has caught my eye. There are some nice long-sleeved top and trouser sets out there, like this one from Camilla Pihl. Leopard print is having a moment and this bikini from Massimo would add some edge to those simple crochet pieces. For the evening, I love a printed set – this H&M one looks really expensive, while this SIR one is a nice investment option.

For accessories, I would look for pieces that work with everything. I am loving brown right now, and these simple Mango sandals would be so useful. This little bag from NLA  is cute, and cord necklaces are the perfect on-trend touch. For the evening, you might want a bit of glam, in which case you can’t go wrong with a Cult Gaia bag.

Q: I am after a white dress that isn’t see-through and preferably midi or maxi length. Can you help?

Free People is a great brand for this – its site has a section specifically for white dresses. The quality should be good, so it shouldn’t be see-through. I would also look at ARKET. Aside from the high street, I love Matteau, Ciao Lucia, Faithfull The Brand and Asceno. And this Tove  dress is a great buy on THEOUTNET.com. Finally, this If Only If silk style is so stunning.

Q: I need a sarong for my late summer holiday – where would you suggest looking?

Sarongs have been everywhere this summer, and I think they're such a nice addition to a beach look. I recommend looking at swimwear brands such as Away That Day; I especially love this red one. Toteme also has this lovely striped option and Hunza G has a selection too.
