Q: Right now, I’m looking for some everyday, black ankle boots that are also comfortable…

I’ve been on the hunt for a pair too, and I’m pleased to say I found a great option from Flattered. I ordered the Xena style and put them to the test this week and have been very happy with the level of comfort. I especially like the subtle square toe and the heel shape. The high street has some great options too, especially these pairs from Mint Velvet and Zara

Q: For everyday wear, I’m looking for a neutral jacket, like a bomber or teddy. Where should I look?

I just spotted this teddy style and think it’s such a great price. Similarly, ARKET has also brought this cosy jacket back again; I remember it sold out quickly last year. I have my eye on this Mint Velvet fringed wool-blend jacket – I plan on belting it over double denim – and another style I recommend is a barn jacket. & Other Stories has this duffle option that looks like it’ll be nice and warm.

Q: I’m looking for some chocolate brown leather or suede ballerina pumps. Any suggestions?

This style of shoe is so useful for milder autumn days and then, come spring, you can pull them out again. Prada and Miu Miu have the ultimate wish-list options, but around the mid-price point, I would suggest looking at Aeyde and ATP. I’m actually waiting for this H&M pair to restock too, and this ASOS style is so chic – and under £45.

Q: I’m looking for a fun dress for my 40th birthday, which we will celebrate with a dinner party. Pink, short, arms covered if possible, size 12 and my budget is around £100 – maybe rental?

I think rental is a great idea when it comes to statement pieces. Brands I would suggest looking at for long sleeves include De La Vali, Taller Marmo and 16Arlington. I also spotted this Anthropologie style in the sale – it has such a Chloé look. Finally, I know this is over budget, but Rotate Birger Christensen is another brand that is great for long-sleeve styles – this is new season but should pop up on a rental site soon.

Q: I’d really like to add some cardigans to my wardrobe, especially a bright red and a grey. I prefer a boxier fit and ideally I don’t want to spend more than £150.

Cardigans are big news right now, much more so than jumpers. There are so many great options in good fabrics at this price point. Brands I would recommend include & Other Stories – I love the mohair styles – and ARKET, where the quality of the wool is top notch. I’ve also been impressed by the selection at GAP of all places – I just bought this brown cotton style. I also live in American Vintage cardigans at this time of year.

Q: Where can I find a chic puffer jacket? I need something warm and practical, but I’m still hoping to find something that looks good…

The key is to go for a style with a point of difference. For example, this one on Massimo Dutti has a detachable scarf that adds a chic edge, plus it comes in both black and white. Similarly, this one from H&M has a large collar, which makes the jacket feel more elevated; Axel Arigato has a similar silhouette. Another option could be this oversized brown style from ARKET or this Varley one, with the fleece colour and cinched waist, is another chic option.

Q: This season, I want some dark blue jeans, either in a straight leg or relaxed fit – can you help?

If you’re in the market for new jeans, this is the shade to go for. Brown, burgundy, red – this dark wash will work with all the on-trend colours. Right now, Massimo Dutti denim is a standout for me. I’ve found that the fit is true to size and flattering. Elsewhere on the high street, I would recommend looking at ARKET – this relaxed fit pair instantly caught my eye. I do also have a few favourites when it comes to investment brands like Citizens of Humanity and Mother Denim, both of which have great straight-leg and relaxed styles. I also love the pleated detail on this Loulou Studio pair.
