I try to get dressed ‘properly’ every day. I’m still working from home 5 days a week, but I find getting into a smart casual outfit, like a blazer and jeans, helps me feel switched on. Plus, I’m well and truly over that stage of lockdown where joggers were on repeat every day – it’s nice to start wearing ‘real’ clothes again!

Dressing well is knowing what suits you. I recently bought a yellow tracksuit from H&M as it reminded me of The Frankie Shop design. Sadly, I immediately regretted buying it as yellow is not my colour! I’m also conscious of dressing for my height instead of ticking off trends – I’m 5ft 3in, with a small waist and wider hips, so something like a bias cut midi skirt doesn’t work for me as the shape makes me appear wider. If you’re in the same boat, opt for shorter hemlines, and denim that’s fitted at the waist and straight through the leg.

Don’t underestimate the power of a great blazer. In my opinion, every woman should have an oversized one in their wardrobe. Specifically vintage, because contemporary designs aren’t made in the same way. Don’t be put off by an oversized cut if you’re on the smaller side, either – I’m petite and find an oversized blazer actually gives me a stronger shape.

Don’t underestimate the power of a great blazer. In my opinion, every woman should have an oversized one in their wardrobe.

Cycling shorts are more versatile than you think. They divide opinion, but they’ve been one of my favourite pieces to wear this summer. Whether it’s with a sweatshirt and chunky trainers, or a blazer and flip flop heels for the evening, I’ve worn them in so many different ways.

A chunky shoe can make the simplest outfit look chic. I bought a great dupe of The Row’s Ginza sandals which I wear at least five times a week (in hindsight, I should have just invested in the real deal). The cool flatform elevates every look.

If you love a neutral colour palette, opt for tan and chocolate next season. I’m excited to start transitioning towards a darker colour palette for autumn, and I’ll be shelving my sandals in favour of knee-high boots with leather trousers and chunky knits.

A stylish woman always appears confident and comfortable. An easy way to nail this is to find an outfit formula that works for you – whether it’s jeans and a blazer, or a dress and heels.

Investing in great denim is always worth it. I used to get so frustrated that many high street jeans didn’t cater to my body type or lost their shape over time. But as soon as I invested in a pair of Levi’s, I never looked back. I’m a big fan of the 501 and ribcage styles.

That being said, I’m also a huge fan of the high street. If I had to wear one brand for the rest of my life it’d probably be Zara, as they make high end designs so affordable. When it comes to basics like tank tops and sweatshirts, Weekday is the best, and H&M offers some of the highest quality pieces on a budget, particularly in A/W. This season, I’ll be going to them for cashmere jumpers and faux leather trousers.

The key to great style is being comfortable. That doesn’t mean you have to wear sweatpants every day, but if you’re tugging at your dress because it’s too short or too small, you’ll carry yourself awkwardly. A stylish woman always appears confident and comfortable. An easy way to nail this is to find an outfit formula that works for you – whether it’s jeans and a blazer, or a dress and heels. If you feel comfortable, then you’ll always look and feel your best.
