A Stylish Influencer Shares Everything She’s Loving
The Transitional Hero
I wear them year-round, but this is when I really start to rely on my blazers again. For me, the fit is so important. A slightly oversized silhouette is always better – one to two sizes up but you still want to maintain structure. I have a couple I’ll always reach for: my grey wool blazer, my black boxy blazer and a new light brown blazer from Second Female. While they work with anything, I tend to wear them with my Khaite straight leg jeans or some wool trousers.
The Denim Trend
It might sound obvious, but I always opt for darker denim in the autumn. It’s also much more about straight cuts or wider, longer fits which suit boots and trainers better. All you need is a good knit and a long coat for a chich and cosy look.
The Day-To-Night Must-Have
On a recent date night with my husband, I wore long earrings, minimal make-up and a sleek black outfit with simple kitten heels. My vibe is generally quite minimal. For example, the necklace I wear most days is over ten years old – a simple chain with dainty details. That said, I do think jewellery has the power to transform a look – Lie Studios makes some great statement pieces.
The Failsafe Look
When I don’t know what to wear, I’ll always go for something black or white – or both. Right now, I’m loving my long-sleeved knit dress from Almada The Label. It’s great now with ballet flats – but it’ll also work on colder days with boots and a long wool coat.
The Basics
Danish brand Selected Femme does such good denim, blazers and tees, while COS and ARKET are my high-street go-tos for most of my casualwear – think linen trousers, cool co-ords and evening dresses.
The Under-The-Radar Find
Rhune is a Belgian brand that should be on everyone’s radar. It’s does really cool, sophisticated and slightly different eveningwear and I recently picked up some of the dresses and tops. Remember to check out the trousers and knitwear, too.
The Boots
I’m going to Paris this week and some Twist & Tango boots are on my hit list. They’re very reminiscent of Isabel Marant – somewhere between a knee-high and a cowboy boot, blending grown up with cool girl style. I see myself wearing them with shorts, skirts and trousers.
The Colour
Dark brown is everywhere right now and although I mostly wear neutrals, it’s a colour I’d love to start wearing more, preferably in knitwear with a skirt. I'm also really into co-ords and have seen a brown two-piece set from Twist & Tango I’m keen to get my hands on as well.
The Sunnies
It sounds odd but I rarely wear sunglasses – if I do, it’ll likely be my black Bottega Venetas or Rayban Wayfarers. I don’t suit anything too oversized, so a sleeker soft cat-eye shape tends to work best.
The Knitwear Brand
I tend to invest in knitwear because I get so much wear out of it – and I prefer shopping for cashmere and wool. Most of my knits are from Almada The Label because it just nails the quality, fabrication and fit.
The Fragrance
My signature fragrance right now is Chanel’s Paris-Paris. I don't like anything too sweet and this one strikes the perfect balance between feminine and fresh.
The Skincare Product
Zo Skin Health’s Exfoliating Polish is one of my favourite products. It’s a bit like a face scrub but the finely milled texture is great for sensitive skin. I use it about once a week, and I always pack it when I’m travelling. It’s perfect for the end of summer when my skin needs a bit of post-sun regeneration.
The Make-Up Brand
Merit is a new beauty brand I’ve been loving this year. I don’t wear a lot of make-up but when I do, I’ll always add a bit of the highlighting balm onto my cheekbones for some extra glow. I also love the ‘Millennial’ lip colour.
The Restaurants
We just went to Yes Yes Yes – a vegan restaurant in Helsinki. My husband and son are both dairy and gluten intolerant, so we shared tahini zucchini, naan bread and lots of greens – it was incredible. I also recently went to Coco Verde, a French restaurant that does delicious fish. In Paris I’m excited to go to Giraffe – I’ve heard great things about the food and the vibe.
The City
I used to live in Florida, and I often go back to Miami. We’ve got a trip coming up this October and will also be spending Christmas there too. The weather is far better than Finland, plus I can’t wait to do my favourite things – specifically visiting the design district. I highly recommend it. We live nearby and it’s home to some great restaurants and shops.
The Recipe
I tend to cook a lot of veggies like beets, brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes at this time of year and will chop these up on a baking tray with some onion and pop it all into the oven. We typically serve it with some quinoa or brown rice and a nice piece of fish. Easy, healthy and delicious.
