Marathon Diaries: The Final Countdown With Polly & Nana

Stronger Together: The lululemon x Runna Collaboration
For Polly and Nana, training hasn’t been a solo mission. It’s been driven by the strong community and expert guidance that are central to the lululemon x Runna collaboration. With tailored training plans via the Runna app, high-energy group runs, and gear designed for endurance, this partnership is redefining what it means to run strong.
The exclusive Run Like Never Before collection – featuring co-branded, high-performance running essentials – is back by popular demand. Available only at lululemon’s Regent Street flagship store until 30th April, the collection has already become a staple among runners looking for both style and function. Be sure to snap the pieces up quick, as once they're gone, they're gone.
Marathon weekend isn’t just about race day – it’s about the entire experience. Runna’s marathon hub will be the place to be, offering shakeout runs to ease pre-race jitters, live podcast recordings with Anya Culling, and post-marathon yoga to kickstart recovery. Empowered by lululemon, it’s set to be a must-visit for runners and supporters alike.

The biggest challenge has been trusting the process. Some weeks, my legs felt heavy and doubts crept in. Sticking to the plan has been key. Now, with race day around the corner, I’m focusing on the positives – I’ve put in the work, my body feels strong, and I’m ready to soak in the experience.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to run my own race. It’s easy to compare progress, but every runner is on their own trajectory. That’s something the lululemon x Runna community reinforce – so many runners talk about the power of mental resilience and I’ve learned that mindset is everything.
I’ve lived in lululemon throughout my training. Comfort, function and style matter, and the Run Like Never Before collection delivers on all three. The Hotty Hot Shorts – with built-in briefs and ultra-lightweight fabric – are a game-changer when tackling long distances. For layering, the waist-length long-sleeved tops are my go-to – they’re flattering and practical. And the Swiftly Racerback Tank has become a staple for those mid-intensity runs where breathability is key.
This journey has been about discipline, routine, and seeing progress unfold in real time. There’s something addictive about pushing your limits, and I can’t wait to experience that electrifying race-day atmosphere again. Last year’s marathon was one of the best days of my life – 26.2 miles of pure adrenaline, determination and human spirit at its best.

The anticipation is intense but I’m ready. I’ve spent months preparing for this moment, and now it’s just about execution. To calm the nerves, I’ve been treating my long Sunday runs as dress rehearsals – race day is just another long run, only with thousands of people and an incredible crowd behind me.
One of the biggest lessons? Listening to my body. After a 30k run left me with a minor injury, I had to pull back, trust my physio’s advice and adjust my training. It was a reminder that sometimes less is more – recovery is just as important as the miles themselves.
Feeling good in what you wear makes all the difference. My training staple has been lululemon’s Fast & Free High-Rise Leggings. The pocket storage is ideal for my phone, keys and gels, but what I love most is how they feel. They’re buttery soft, completely weightless, and stay perfectly in place with no mid-run adjustments necessary. The electric blue shade is a bonus. For support, I swear by the Go Further Bra, lululemon’s latest innovation in high-impact support. I’ve never worn a sports bra that feels this good while running. It’s supportive but unrestrictive – I don’t even notice it’s there, which is exactly what I need on long runs.
This whole experience has been a lesson in resilience. Pushing myself further each week and adapting to distances I once thought were impossible has been empowering. I always said this would be a ‘one and done’ marathon, but I’m seriously considering the New York one now. On the day, I can’t wait for the energy of the crowd, seeing my friends and family cheering me on and, of course, the moment I cross the finish line. The sense of accomplishment will be like nothing else.
