Founded by Misty Minton, Casa Carta sells colourful, mood-enhancing ceramics. We love the brand’s bold Scallop collection which, evocative of the 1960s, is handcrafted, glazed and embellished by British potters. Mix and match the different colourways or use a single piece to make a statement. From vases to trays, chessboards to backgammon sets, there’s something for everyone among its unique designs.
The brainchild of paint expert Jean Frédéric Nothomb and renowned colour specialist Pierre Bonnefille, Parisian brand Argile Peinture launches in the UK this month. Offering a premium range of paint colours, the brand draws much of its inspiration from nature. A unique blend of high resin and pigment content, there are eight finishes to choose from – plus, all the paints are odour-free. Spanning a whopping 184 shades, everything is mixed on site at its King’s Road showroom.
Rosemary Wain originally trained as an interior designer, but recently returned to art college to find out how to design and sculpt her own pieces. Inspired by a range of references – from the ancient world to modern art – Rosemary’s collection is eye-catching, colourful and playful. Her Matisse-inspired lamp bases are a standout, while the blue and white Cote d’Azur collection offers a mid-century Mediterranean feel, with each piece hand thrown and hand glazed.
Founded by Amelia Widell, MeliMeli makes personalised, playful furniture that doesn't compromise on quality. Whether you want to make a statement with stripes or play it safe with classic linens or velvet, each sofa and armchair can be made to order in the fabric of your choice. We love the curvy Flora ottoman, while the Luca sofa range looks far more expensive than its price tag suggests.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Paul and Maria Le Mesurier, WoodEdit sells a range of high-quality hand-crafted furniture and home accessories. Built to last, each piece is designed by Maria in typically minimalist style, before Paul makes every piece to order. From solid kitchen tables to practical peg rails, there’s something to suit every budget – it’s the radiator covers made with tulip wood and lined with cane which have caught our eye.
Created by Istanbul-born fine art graduate Sine Icli in 2016, Ophelia’s decorative pieces capture a sense of space – quite literally, all the colours and motifs are inspired by the galaxy. The current collection offers a range of plates and differently sized bowls, with colourways including Black and White Galaxy, Mortadella, Minty Pink Galaxy, Spotted Dog Galaxy and Deep Navy. All pieces are hand-shaped and hand-painted – and, with colours created using random movements, no two items are exactly alike.
