Sarah Kogan

“I find Sarah’s paintings almost meditative – they resonate calm. As an artist, she is especially concerned with the materiality of paint, and she paints on many different surfaces: linen, canvas, aluminium, paper, using repeated shapes and forms in order to create her beautiful abstractions.”

Christabel Blackburn

“Christabel’s use of colour is so uplifting. I love how she captures the innate sense of a person or a place with such minimalism. You can commission her to paint a family portrait or scene in the most interesting and captivating way – it’s such an original way to capture different memories and much more interesting than a traditional watercolour. She also won Sky Portrait Artist of the Year in 2020, which has given her profile a much-deserved boost.”

Sandra Kantanen

“You can find Sandra’s work in several art collections all over the world. She is heavily influenced by ancient Chinese landscape painting, and her art is a combination of photography and painting – only she ‘paints’ with the light from the camera. The works are then manipulated using alternative digital processes to create her own imagined and seductive landscapes.”

Rana Begum

“A piece by Rana Begum is high on my wish list. Her work ranges from large-scale installations to more intimate pieces on paper, and blurs the boundaries between sculpture, painting and architecture. In years to come, I think it’s likely we will see several major museums holding solo shows of her work. Whether it’s 3D or on paper, her work explores geometry, colour and light, and if money (and space) were no object, I would commission her to make an installation for my house or garden. In the meantime, I’d easily make do with one of her beautiful works on paper.”

Alice Kemp

“Alice’s thick application of paint means you can really see the artist’s hand at work when you view her paintings. Recently, I’ve been very drawn to images of nature – perhaps we’re all yearning to be closer to the natural world right now – and her renderings of flowers, animals and landscapes have an abstract expressionist feel to them. I particularly love the smaller size of some of her canvases – they’d make a lovely group hung in twos or threes if you’re looking to brighten up small corners in your home.”

Caroline Popham

“I love her new collection of works on paper, many of which are reminiscent of the Matisse cut-out series. There’s a simplicity in the lines and the colour, which I find very chic, not to mention intimate and immediate. The different layers of the collages add another dimension – they’re almost like a sculpture in a frame.”

Albarrán Cabrera

“I find this artistic duo really interesting. They use gold leaf, platinum and textured paper to imbue their artworks with layers and meaning, making their pieces like little treasures. Albarrán Cabrera see their photographs as objects in their own right; they personally handcraft their prints using a wide range of processes and materials, creating unique objects with tactile qualities filled with small details which are there to be discovered.”
