Artisans Of Devizes

Artisans of Devizes was founded in the late 1980s, with nothing more than a sparse workshop, a handful of craft skills and a passion for natural stone and handmade tiles. Over the last 30 years, it has become one of the UK’s leading stone and tile companies, while remaining true to its core values of quality, integrity and collaboration. At showrooms in Wiltshire and London, you can explore an eclectic portfolio of natural and man-made products from around the world.

Known for creating beautiful bathrooms, Balineum’s tile collection is a standout. We love the Series S range – handmade in Italy, it’s inspired by the seaports of the Mediterranean. With more than 100 patterns available in the collection, you’ll find field tiles, border tiles and authentic listello trims as part of the line-up, allowing you to create bespoke designs to suit your space.

Bert & May

Lee Thornley left London in 2004 to set up reclaimed tile company Bert & May in Andalusia. His small online venture took on a new life a decade ago when he met Juanma – the owner of a small family business specialising in artisan encaustic tiles and traditional handmade techniques. Since then, the company has evolved into a specialist supplier of handmade artisan tiles.

Designing and producing in Cornwall, Decorum offers a range of hand-painted and patterned kitchen and bathroom tiles. We love its Cornish take on Delft tiles, featuring local landmarks and wildlife, and the English Garden panel – a 60-tile wall mural perfect for a bathroom. For something bespoke, the studio’s team of artists will work with you to create custom designs.

Fired Earth

Showcasing collaborations with design icons like Nina Campbell and industry experts like Bert & May, Fired Earth started life in an Oxfordshire farmyard in the early 1980s, selling terracotta floor tiles at a time when they were relatively unavailable to the British public. Eventually, customers started requesting glazed wall tiles too, and the business has since expanded to include 27 showrooms.
