The brief was to design a home that feels comfortable, playful and inviting – a space where the children are front and centre. Having recently relocated from California, the clients were keen to complete the build within three months, allowing us to focus on the decorative elements of the project. They arrived with a selection of furniture that was ready to be reupholstered, alongside an exceptional art collection, which made the process of accessorising the house really fun.

The clients’ desire was to create a space that would work equally as well for hosting friends in the evening as for spending time with their children. As such, the room was conceived as a dual-purpose space, functioning both as a sitting room and a dining area. The freestanding bespoke cabinets by Alfred Newall are a particular highlight, thoughtfully designed to move with the clients wherever they go next.
