Tequila Slammer
Originally, a tequila slammer involved a small glass of tequila topped with champagne – you put your hand over the top and slam it down on the table to make the bubbles fizz up, then drink it quickly before it overflows. Here is a slightly more sophisticated take on the classic tipple...

Ingredients
25ml of tequila
15ml of freshly squeezed lime juice
1 tsp of sugar syrup
Some well-chilled cava or other dry sparkling wine, to top up
A lime wedge, to garnish
Method
Step 1
Pour the first three ingredients into an ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake well.
Step 2
Strain into a chilled old-fashioned glass and top with cava. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.
