The Hamptons Home Passed Down By Estée Lauder - Inside Aerin Lauder’s Family House
In this special episode, SheerLuxe visits Aerin Lauder at her family home on Long Island – a house that holds a very important place in her family’s history. The founder and creative director of AERIN and style and image director for Estée Lauder Companies was given it by her grandparents when her first son was born and today, she’s made it her own, while also maintaining the family stories and personal touches that make it so special. Traditional in style but full of character, the interiors bring together family heirlooms, photographs, fresh flowers and pieces collected over the years. There are warm chocolate-brown tones in the living room, classic blue-and-white schemes, sun-filled rooms and a kitchen made for gathering. Aerin talks us through her approach to colour, entertaining and mixing old with new, as well as the homeware brands she returns to time and again. She also shares a lesson from her grandmother Estée that still guides her today: “Gold and leopard print are neutrals.”
