The Best Places To Shop For Vintage

A growing appetite for sustainable shopping has made buying vintage more popular than ever. Where should you head for the best selection of pre-loved pieces? In store and online, here are the destinations in which to discover vintage treasures...

IN STORE

Brick Lane Vintage Market

One of the largest permanent vintage markets in London, this is an underground haven of dozens of sellers from across the UK and Europe. With everything from leathers to vintage Prada, it deserves at least one full afternoon for its many affordable hidden gems.

Block F, 85 Brick Lane, E1 6QL

Found & Vision

In the heart of Portobello, vintage boutique Found & Vision counts Kate Moss, Florence Welch and Sienna Miller among its celebrity fans. Head there for a more curated selection of designer pieces if rummaging through rails isn’t your thing.

Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair

Travelling vintage market Judy’s regularly hosts events across London, Leeds, Edinburgh, Bristol and more, offering a one-stop shop for stalls selling everything from 80s dresses to reworked accessories. You’ll pay a small entry fee, but price checks are implemented to ensure shoppers pay up to 75% less than other high street vintage stores.

Laura Von Behr

If the thought of turning up in the same Zara dress as another wedding guest makes you shiver, visit Laura von Behr’s studio for something unique. Visits are by appointment only, but her rails are awash with feather-adorned, puff-sleeved delights that make it difficult to leave empty handed. Prices range from £150 to £250 and appointments are free of charge.

Hackney Downs Studios, E8 2BT

Phoenix on Golborne

Another must-visit on Golborne Road, Phoenix is as famed for its antique furniture (housed on the first floor of the store) as its collection of vintage women’s clothing on the ground floor. New pieces arrive every week, so it’s worth regularly checking back for great finds.

67 Golborne Road, W10 5NP

Rokit

Rokit has stores in Camden and Brick Lane, or Covent Garden if you prefer to stay central. It’s one of the most established names on the vintage scene, so expect huge amounts of choice. Bags and accessories are its pièces de résistance.
