Aurelia Overnight Recovery Mask, £58
We love anything that works while we sleep, and Aurelia’s mask is one of the best overnight treatments we’ve tried. Probiotics work to balance oil levels and prevent breakouts, while ingredients like silver powder provide anti-inflammatory benefits, and repair any damage deep down in the dermis. The thick texture feels incredibly luxe, too.
Caudalie Moisturising Mask, £22
One of the best for dry, tight skin, antioxidant-rich grape extracts and hyaluronic acid work together to provide intense moisture. Ideal if your skin is looking dull, or needs a quick pick-me-up, it works fast – in just 15 minutes – to restore radiance. It’s rich, so a little goes a long way, but it never feels oppressive or suffocating.
Dr Dennis Gross C + Collagen Biocellulose Brightening Treatment Mask, £17
From the brand that never compromises on efficacy, this 100% natural and biodegradable sheet mask is powered by vitamin C, ascorbic acid and collagen amino acids, to help with everything from boosting skin tone and texture, to promoting firmness over time. It also offers a degree of protection against daily pollutants – in short, a great all-rounder.
Dr. Jart+ Rubber Mask Hydration Lover, £10
Powered by Korean skincare technology and hydrating ampoules, this juicy mask locks in serious moisture, as well as boosting the skin’s natural barrier for a supple and refined complexion. You soon get used to the feel of the rubber, which clings to the skin, allowing ingredients to sink down deeper. Expect skin to look fresher and more even – some testers even found their pores were visibly reduced after several uses.
FRESH Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask, £77
Utilising their signature black tea complex, just a little of this potent formula is enough to tighten and lift skin while you sleep. Full of peptides, it works to strengthen, smoothen and firm the complexion over time. Thick and creamy, the cosseting texture makes the price tag feel worth it.
Garnier Fresh Mix Tissue Mask Vitamin C, £3.99
Garnier do some of the best, affordable skincare out there, and their new Tissue Masks are right on the mark. Designed to be mixed, one section contains a hydrating formula rich in vitamin C, while the other houses the dry, algae tissue mask to adhere to the skin for full penetration. The results are impressive, too – 83% of testers said their skin looked and felt fresher after four weeks.
Lumene Nordic Hydra Gel Mask, £20.90
Think of this innovative, watery-gel like a drink for the skin. With pure arctic spring water and organic Nordic birch sap, it has a bouncy texture that’s easily absorbed overnight without any stickiness. Come morning, expect reduced puffiness and smoother-looking skin. Ideal for anyone suffering from severe dryness or tightness.
No7 Instant Results Peel Off Mask, £13
Vitamins C, E and fruit extracts combine in this peel-off formula to smooth and refine skin. Slather it all over your face to get rid of dead skin cells, prevent further breakouts and even out your complexion. The peel itself is highly satisfying – as you take it off, you’ll see grime and surface dirt lift, and notice your skin and pores look visibly refined. Sensitive skin types should take extra care, and always wear SPF after using.
Patchology FlashMasque Soothe 5 Minute Sheet Mask, £8
Patchology do some of the best sheet masks, with highly potent ingredients that penetrate the skin’s barrier for maximum effect. This ‘five’ minute version is no exception. Laced with aloe vera and cotton seed extract, it quickly reduces redness and soothes inflammation, while rosemary, sage and lavender form a protective layer to fight against daily aggressors (think UV and pollution).
Plenaire Skin Frosting Deeply Hydrating Mask, £19
More than just pretty packaging, this thick mask uses coconut and camellia oil to boost elasticity and get rid of uncomfortable dry patches. A little goes a long way, with visible results after just a few uses – expect brighter, more hydrated skin.
Rael Hydro Lock Facial Mask, $15
Formulated with bamboo yarn, Rael's range of sustainable sheet masks are completely recyclable and biodegradable. Our favourite contains grapefruit and orange extracts to brighten, as well as sodium hyaluronate to boost moisture and lend a dewy sheen.
Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask, £22.50
With a host of celebrity fans, including Kim Kardashian West, this mask is the definition of an Instagram-famous product. It’s partly down to the pared-back packaging, but users also back the impressive results. Full of glow-giving vitamin C, and skin-soothing niacinamide, this creamy formula plumps, soothes and softens flaky, dry patches – fast.
Versed The Shortcut Overnight Facial, £9.50
Cruelty-free and vegan, this overnight facial is unlike anything we’ve tried before. Using glycolic and gentle lactic acid, it boosts cell turnover to revive dull complexions, leaving behind visibly smoother skin. It’s pH-balanced, too – so you never have to worry about irritation or redness, unlike other peels which can strip. The silky texture sinks in fast, so there’s no risk of sticking to your pillow either.
VENN Revitalising Lifting Mask, £71
VENN’s skin-plumping mask is worth the investment. Thanks to a mix of antioxidants and collagen-boosting peptides it leaves skin feeling soft and visibly brighter. The cooling formula feels incredible on the skin, too, with little to no irritation, so even sensitive skin types can get on board.
