John Lewis is known for building Christmas buzz with its annual TV ad. This year, it’s getting an early start with its beauty advent calendar, which is brimming with goodies – from Augustinus Bader’s iconic Rich Cream to Sunday Riley’s Glycolic Acid Treatment, Hourglass’s Extreme Lash Mascara to the niche perfume brand Juliette Has A Gun, there’s something for everyone to enjoy, with a number of full-size items included, too.

M&S' calendar this year is a bargain for those who love their beauty. At just £40 (providing you spend £30 across clothing, home and beauty) it is brimming with 25 products, 10 of which are full-sized. From Autograph's popular colour lip balms, to Prai's rich night creams and Aveda's iconic hair treatments, there's plenty to enjoy inside, as well as new brands to discover, too. Plus, it's all available in a handy, reusable tin.

The Harrods beauty advent is every bit as chic as you'd expect.
