I’ve become a little fixated on ‘snatching’ my skin – particularly around my jawline. I’m not opposed to anything more invasive, I’m just not ready for it yet. I’m also a big believer that once you start, it can be hard to stop noticing the difference, so timing is everything. For now, my alternative is a course of intensive facials with Mina Lee, a holistic skin-restoration expert. Using specialised massage and knuckling techniques, her facials encourage lymphatic drainage and reduce puffiness. The results are addictive; I wish I could see her every week. If you like that romantic, blurred make-up look, you’ll love MILK’s Lip + Cheek Blurs, which come in eight flattering shades. Simply swipe, blend and go – a little scribble is all you need to give your complexion a healthy flush. I like smudging a little over the eyelids too.

I’m calling it: this is Rhode’s best launch to date. I’ve used it non-stop all summer and am already onto my second bottle. The silky consistency makes application a doddle, while its caramel-bronze tone warms the skin just enough to look natural. I love buffing it over my face with a kabuki brush, then applying it on my neck and chest to bring everything together. It’s perfect for tan-phobes like me, as well as anyone wanting to carry their glow into autumn.

The Eye Revivers

I’m the first to admit that products won’t get rid of dark circles but I do love how these Lidsticks cool the skin, reduce puffiness and soothe tired-looking eyes. Each one has a cooling rollerball applicator and the formulas contain skin-nourishing ingredients like coconut, fruit and shea oils to hydrate the delicate eye area and support skin resilience over time. The result is visibly brighter, smoother-looking skin – I love how my concealer sits afterwards.
The Nourishing Cleanser

This is pricey for a cleanser but a little goes a long way. Thick and balmy, it has a juicy, honey-like texture that’s incredibly satisfying to apply. I recommend massaging it into damp skin, then removing it with a warm flannel or cloth. It’s a real treat to use, removing every trace of make-up and dirt while leaving skin feeling comfortably hydrated. You can also apply a thick layer as a weekly mask. Either way, you’ll love how fresh, soft and smooth your complexion looks and feels afterwards.

The ‘Push-Up’ Bra Mascara

I love a good mascara and I know what makes a great one. This NARS drop ticks all my boxes. It acts like a ‘push-up bra’ for your lashes, holding them in place and maintaining their curl all day. The brush is brilliant, too. Almost cello-shaped, it reaches all the nooks and crannies along the lash line to elongate and lift. Its bristles resemble the prongs of a comb, helping to separate lashes without clumps. It’s also available in brown for a softer look.

The Brightening Concealer

I’m yet to meet a Vieve make-up launch I didn’t like and this brightening, blurring concealer looks set to be another hit. Similar in consistency to the Skin Nova Complexion Balm, it’s lightweight, fluid and easy to blend with your fingers or a brush. The finish is smooth and flattering, and doesn’t settle into creases. It disguises darkness and redness while making the whole eye area look brighter and more lifted.

The Affordable Hero
Revitalift Glass Skin, £17.99 | L’Oreal Paris
Hydrating without feeling sticky, this Glass Skin Moisturiser is ideal if you want plumping, conditioning moisture with a dewy glow. It leaves skin with a healthy sheen, while the milky texture is easy to apply and layers well without feeling greasy or tacky. It’s particularly good between seasons, when skin needs more moisture but isn’t quite ready for a richer formula.
