Florrie White Shares Her Beauty Dozen

Between painting the faces of Alexa Chung, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Emily Blunt and gracing the pages of Vogue, ELLE and Harper’s Bazaar, Florrie White is a make-up artist in demand. We snooped inside Florrie’s bathroom and quizzed her about the beauty and wellness treatments she relies on…

For a cut…

George Northwood does the best no-nonsense cuts. His cool styles require minimal fuss in the morning but can be blown out for full Italian glamour if need be.

For colour…

I see Sally Northwood approximately every three-four weeks to cover up my grey roots. She keeps my colour modern with ‘natural’ highlights that I claim are from sun exposure.

For haircare…

Working with Poppy Delevingne introduced me to the Wella System Professional Luxe Oil products, and I love the whole range for smooth locks. I use the shampoo, conditioner, mask and serum.

For skin…

An affordable everyday cleanser that’s a staple in my bathroom.

For base…

I adored make-up long before I became a make-up artist and while I’m lucky enough to get sent many wonderful products I still go make-up shopping myself. I really like the brand Surratt and especially this easy-to-use foundation wand.

For eyes…

Trish McEvoy is a favourite too and this tubular, water-resistant mascara lengthens even the shortest of hairs.

For a facial…

I have been fortunate to try lots of different facials over the years but my favourite is Teresa Serpentino at Jamie Stevens Clapham Salon. She recently helped me overcome my fear of needles and try micro-needling, and previously cleared up my periorbital dermatitis with her Oxygen Facial.

For a pedicure…

I spend long hours on my feet so I regularly book in for a full medical pedicure at Beauchamp Foot Care with Erika Gibbins.

For a detox…

On shoots there is the constant temptation of croissants, pudding and nibbles and it takes a stronger willed person than me to resist the daily grazing. I therefore try to cleanse or detox once in a while. I recently followed the Press London 5 Day Nourish Soup Cleanse and it was so convenient and delicious – I felt rejuvenated and miraculously wasn’t hungry at all.

For fitness…

I need to keep my body stretched and strong to cart my two Victorinox suitcases full of kit between shoots and clients. I do this with Vinyasa and Yin Yoga at Yoga Point in Brixton – they have brilliant teachers.

For feeling grounded…

I adore travelling and have been lucky to visit some fabulous places for work. On my return home I go for acupuncture with Philippa Summers at the Brixton Therapy Centre – it makes me blissfully relaxed and re-grounded.

For positivity…

Even after 15 years in the industry I still feel anxious regarding my next job. I believe in positive thinking but when I need a little helping hand I pop to Selfridges to see Jackie at Psychic Sisters for a cards reading – it always helps ease my mind.
