Build The Right Foundation
I make a point of looking for a new foundation after summer as my skin is always more tanned after spending time in the sun. It was on this search that I came across the new Vieve Skin Nova Complexion Balm and well, let’s just say I can call off the search. Offering more coverage than a tinted moisturiser but less than a hefty foundation, this is exactly the kind of glowy, bouncy, blurred skin finish I want year-round. It’s especially lovely to apply with a fresh Vieve Foundation Brush, which incidentally I really rate as well, but you could apply it blindfolded, in a dark room and with your fingers and you’d still get the same seamless veil of coverage.
Sort Out Your Stationery
Despite having left school over 20 years ago, September will always mean a fresh start and that calls for new pencils – in this case, the Glossier’s new Brow Boy Arch pencil. The mechanical pomade pencil has a soft, creamy texture while the tiny nib is perfect for creating even the smallest of hair strokes. As if that weren’t enough, the two-in-one nib means you can create proper dimension in your brows, using the sharp edge for fine, 3D hair-like flicks and the flat edge to fill in any gaps and help define. The slim, streamlined packaging means it’s eminently portable too so I’ll be stocking up so that I can stash one in every bag I own. While I’m not buying up actual rubbers for my new season kit, I will be adding an eraser of sorts to my stash, in the form of Victoria Beckham Beauty’s Concealer Pen with TFC8®. The latest collaboration with Professor Augustinus Bader, the formula contains creamy pigments to disguise dark circles and imperfections, as well as the Bader TFC8® complex which aims to improve your complexion in 4 weeks.

Learn Your ABCs
I love the brightening benefits of an at-home peel but don’t always love the dryness that inevitably comes with it. Which means I was happy to discover Allies of Skin’s brilliant Multi Acids & Retinoid Brightening Sleeping Facial. Alongside active ingredients, including vitamin A and acids, are plenty of hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid to offset any dryness. Better still, the actives are encapsulated inside a supercharged gel and slowly released overnight as you wear it, meaning irritation is negated but the skin-reviving results are unaffected.
If you’ve not heard much about beta glucans yet, prepare to get to know all about them. Polysaccaharides that can penetrate the skin and deliver tip-top hydration, the scientists at Lancôme, who have just masterminded a new, improved Génefique Ultimate serum, are likening their impact to hyaluronic acid, only better. Scent The Season
You might think it’s simply an excuse for a new scent, but I do think a new season calls for a new fragrance. To mark my foray into autumn, I’ll be shaking off the zesty citrus based scents of summer and ushering in something altogether deeper, richer and woodier. Jo Malone London’s new addition to the Cologne Intense Collection is Hinoki & Cedarwood and it’s perfect for this. Aromatic and woody, it also has a clean, fresh and green element to it that’s inspired by the Japanese art of forest bathing. Just the thing to wear on autumnal walks and watch the leaves change colour.
Get Your Office In Order
As I’ve mentioned, September feels like the right time to refresh my desk supplies. Happily, the timing couldn’t be more perfect, with Diptyque having just launched its new office essentials collection. It’s a tough call on what to plump for though, as predictably, every piece is just as chic as the next. While the Black Pillar Candle Holder feels like an elegant way to display my many scented candles, the Garden of Echo tray looks just the thing to hold my desk essentials, which includes far too many lip balms and my latest must-have, the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Soothing Hydrating Mist. That said, I probably ought to go for the Peacock and Plume pencil holder, as I’ll definitely need somewhere to house all those aforementioned brow pencils.
