The Spray

Extra Mist-Ical Shine Spray, £26 | Colour Wow

Lightweight but promising a silky, glossy finish, this shine spray is so easy to apply. While it won’t tame frizz and flyaways, it will intensify the luminosity of dry hair once it’s met with a bit of heat from a hairdryer or straightening iron. Perfect if you want to tame loose strands or broken hairs.

The Gel

Pequi Styling Gel, $22 | Ceremonia

Hairstylists will always recommend thicker, coarser hair types use a gel – its strong hold keeps things put. But if you want to get the wet look, it’s also a no brainer. This one is seriously moisturising thanks to a blend of Brazilian pequi oil and antioxidant-rich açaí extract and hydrating aloe vera. So while it will keep flyaways at bay, it’s also deeply conditioning. Bonus.

The Stick

Dart Pomade Stick, £17.10 (was £18) | R+Co

There are a couple of pomade sticks floating around right now, but this one from R+Co is our favourite. The brand has an extensive line of treatment-oriented products, and this one makes the slicked-back look so simple. Style your hair as usual, then go in with the stick to smooth flyaways and keep stray strands at bay. Alternatively, apply some to the palms of your hands and scrunch it in to create a beachy texture.

The Serum

Featherbalm Weightless Styler, £41 | Oribe

Unlike most of the entries on this list, this product works on wet hair as well as dry hair. Designed to be a smoothing serum, simply apply it to wet strands before blasting everything with a hairdryer and watch as it creates a silkier-looking finish.
