The Pastel Nail Shades Everyone’s Asking For This Spring

Pastels for spring may not be revolutionary, but there’s a new nuance to them this year. From barely-there washes to cooler, chalkier tones, the best shades can elevate your manicure from predictable to polished. Here’s what to ask for…

BLUEBERRY MILK

With a white base, Blueberry Milk is more grey than purple – and a real suits-all tone. Anything slightly turquoise or lilac need not apply; you’re looking for something fresh, chic and a little more icy.

BUTTER YELLOW

A huge colour in fashion this season, Butter Yellow is proving popular for manicures too. Unlike zesty, vibrant lemon yellow, this is more muted but still joy-sparking.

MARSHMALLOW PINK

This is not your typical baby pink. It’s softer, cloudier and not as bright. Think of the colour of a marshmallow – light and creamy. Finish-wise, a sheer shade of this pink looks lovely too (Harriet Westmoreland and Julia Diogo have some great inspo for this).

MATCHA GREEN

Just like your daily dose of green caffeine, this shade can vary in depth of colour. The key is to avoid any sort of neon tint and ensure it’s not too blue – earthy and slightly muted is what you’re looking for. If you want to jazz it up a little, try a glaze-effect top coat.
